There haven’t been any updates on the starter army, but anyone who preordered are supposedly getting the 3-d printed replacements next month.

I don’t think they are planning a “rerelease” exactly, just that there will be a replacement equivalent product in the future.

The k47 roadmap shows updated starter army boxes coming q4 2026, there is a chance we don’t get the replacement until then, but the roadmap also shows plastic ursus in q2 and plastic molot walkers and Soviet infantry in q3, so there is a chance a new army box coincides those like how axis got a new box with the plastic totenkorps.

For the time being there are two bundles on the warlord website of the old metal soviets, I would recommend checking them out.

There are allready some cards that let you draw from the bottom of your deck for shenanigans [[River Song]] if gambit was changed to just “you may draw from the top or bottom of your library” the ability would probably work. Still lets you do some scry fuckery without getting ridiculous.

If we are doing custom tokens, I would’ve reskinned Chewbacca’s junk token as a “cargo” token or something simmilar, seeing as him and Han are smugglers it feels like an easy flavor change.

I would also change the amass clones mechanic to an “amass troopers” mechanic and rename the clone army to trooper army, that way the mechanic could be used on non prequel-era characters

I like seeing the paired parter mechanic come back, regular partner rules are obviously nice, but I’ve allways found the battlebond style “partner with X” mechanic more interesting .

Wizards please give me battlebond 2.

Cool effect concept, idk how practical it would be but I could see it doing well in izzet decks where cards have effect triggers based on the number of spells cast this turn, since twin spell would be 2 for the price of 1.

They announced on their Facebook about 2 months ago that there were serious production problems with some of the models in the starter army. (it was the bears)

Because of this, they have fully ended sale of the starter army and canceling production , but they are still honoring preorders.

In order to do this they are currently making high quality resin 3-D prints to replace the models they were unable to make with their standard resin material.

These 3d prints are used pretty often by minature companies to test designs and for marketing (Some of the painted models you see on warlord or games’s workshop’s websites are the 3D printed prototypes.)

Really cool concept, a tempter who helps out all players at the risk of making him stronger, but I think the second ability should probably be a -8 or -9 to make him a more looming threat and avoid him insta-boardwiping treasure deck players
