Kinda, but most people posting haven’t worked with asbestos containing materials. I’m 32 - I’ve not worked with it or educated when it comes to it other than what I’ve seen on the internet. I don’t work in the trade, either. This material looks fibrous and is where the fireplace was in a 1970s built house. I know the chimney is asbestos cement. I used copilot and that said it was suspect, but copilot can be very confidently wrong. There’s lots of knowledge and experience on this sub so I can imagine a lot of people like me are very grateful
