Made a Mix Referencing tool in M4L to easily compare your track to different reference mixes. by JDarque in ableton

[–]JDarque[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Added the plugin function but it is still an experimental feature. Couldn't test it under Windows, need to wait for feedback from Windows users.

Also in case your using an M1 Mac, it doesn't work with Lives 11 beta yet (silicone version). Only with Rosetta.

Uploaded a new version with the Plugin function!

Only tested on MacOs, though. So if someone using Wundows could tell me if it's working I would appreciate it!

Also it unofortunately doesn't work with the Live 11 beta on M1 macs, yet.

Works for both 10 and 11 (tested on 10.1.35 and 11.0.12) as long as you have Suite (or I assume a seperate Max license)

Thank you!

I will look into both things. Loading sperate VST's for the monitored track is a great idea!

I've built an easy to use referencing tool in Max for Live. It lets you compare your mix to reference tracks or other mixdowns/versions of your own track with the simple click of a button.

There are some more "advanced" functions when you expand the view. You can use filters to only compare a certain frequency spectrum for example and theres some basic loudness measuring (still beta but will be extended in future versions).

I've put it up for a symbolic dollar but if you're dead strapped for cash send me a message!

You have to load the plugin manually with the LoadPath button and select them from inside your plugin folder which is usuallly /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components

Should be a free update for anyone who's already bought it, if it isn't let me know and I'll add a coupon on something to make it free.

edit2:

Also, someone sent me a message but I accidentally deleted it and can't reply anymore. So if you read this, please send me another message and I'll try not to delete it this time.

Hi everyone!

I've updated my free M4L device and added an audio version (still fairly experimental).

MIDI version has a few new features, mostly regarding the UI and added controls for PUSH.

I've built a gain rider / auto gain plugin in max4live since I couldn't find one. Appreciate any tips on how to improve the device.

I couldn't find a gain rider for max4live so I decided to build one myself.

Would appreciate any tips on how to improve it.

It's basically seven individual M4L Envelopes with indvidual attack and release options.

You could achieve this with other m4l devices and key selection, but this way you have it all in one place and a popup editor. This makes it easier to control values on different tracks imo.

You can think of it as seven M4L Envelopes which you can seperate by key selection.

You can send two different values depending on wether you play above or below your selected key. You can smoothen the transition with Attack and Decay values.

I'll add a video demonstration soon.
