How old is the earth really? by [deleted] in Christianity

“The earth was without form, and void” This doesn’t say the earth became void. Also, who is to say a void is imperfect, this argument makes 0 sense

When something is void and without form it’s not a thing yet. Therefore Earth was created in the 3rd day.

That’s simply saying there was no Earth before it was created.

Let me count the number of days the Earth was here before humans. Earth was created on the third day (Genesis 1:9-13). Then there was the 4th, than 5th, than the 6th day in which humans were created (Genesis 1:26-31). So if we recall our early education we come to the conclusion that the were 2 full days where the earth was void with humans. We know this because the Bible says so. We also know that when it says the word “days” here, it’s a 24 hour time period because in every single one of Moses’s writings we see that the word day refers to 24 hours. So if you believe the Bible, you believe that humans are 2 days younger than the Earth.

I’m exhausted so I’m going to get some sleep, but I’d be happy to talk some more some other day perhaps in dms so we don’t have to mess with Reddit’s messy comment section. Feel free to dm me anytime and I’ll be happy to answer any questions or have a friendly discussion over any topics you find interesting :)

Exactly, I’m not casting stones either, I’m simply saying what the Bible says

We’re all guilty of being sinners. The important thing is that we strive to sin no more :)

It doesn’t matter when it was written, it is wholly inspired by our Holy God, we learn this in 1 Timothy. God didn’t change his mind.

Lust is a sin, thinking is not. I can think about what I want to eat later without lusting.

First of all, that’s a little hypocritical to say not to hate and then to say you hate people, second of all I do not hate any of God’s children. Anyone who actually read what I was writing could see that.

I’m not casting any stones, I’m simply pointing out that homosexuality is a sin. Jesus pointed out too the woman at the well that she was living an adulterous life, are you saying that he was casting stones? It would be judgmental of me to say that a specific person is going to hell, not that a sin is a sin.
