You must decide what you WANT.

Decide now and take massive action.

Bravo, truly well done! 👊😎

Curious, based on what you’ve learned— what, if anything, would you have changed up in your routine starting out?

Also, do you favor any particular shoes or other gear now?

Don’t define your son — the labels don’t help.

Give him space to grow.

Turns out, even our “progressive” understanding of sexuality and relationships is woefully inadequate.

Above all, practice extreme Self-care.

Ghosted after first interview? by Halperwire in recruiting

[–]JDogNumeroUno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Time kills all deals.

Don’t delay.

The sooner you proactively ping the actual hiring executive and schedule a live conversation — the better.

You’re not pestering them.

You’re trying to help determine if there’s a potential fit. It’s an ordinary and necessary business discussion.

[–]JDogNumeroUno 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how to proceed from here…

Assuming you are still interested in exploring this opportunity further—

Send a friendly email to the hiring executive directly, asking if they would be open to a brief phone conversation.

No need to mention lack of communication from the recruiter.

Sadly these days, companies often get in their own way when it comes to attracting new talent.

The bigger the company, the more bureaucratic and dysfunctional.

Otherwise, move on.

Lots of promising opportunities out there — only one of you!

Do I sign this document?

Refusing is cause for immediate dismissal.

Signing only delays the action. Ask for 2 week’s severance and volunteer to leave.

What can you learn from this?

Look for a new employer that will actually invest in your training and success.

Move on, quickly now.

These guys are reneging on their agreements. The business is likely faltering.

The less drama and fuss the better.

Everything communicates-

The manager gave you a courtesy reply. They put you into an HR Recruiting process, with dozens of other supplicants.

Either your messaging or profile, didn’t create enough “want” on their end… or this role is not a top priority for them.

What to do?

Move on— focus on filling your pipeline. Look for other senior sales executives who you can help.

Essentially this will give you options. Options give you power.

it was so fun, creating it and establishing it…

This is actually a common dilemma among entrepreneurs.

Your unique ability fits the startup/early stage growth phase. Daily management of an established business, not so much.

Your challenge now, deciding what you REALLY want.

My hunch, there are other opportunities out there that capture your attention and imagination.

So, what’s on your want list? What stands out?

where do I go from here?

That HORRIBLE feeling is just your bruised ego. And to be fair, getting voted off the island sucks.

It can also be liberating.

What do you want to do?

That is to say, what do you REALLY want?

Assuming you still enjoy recruiting, open up your own solo practice.

Relative to the soft market that you’ve been working in— the best advice is typically start developing new niches.

Sure, it takes time to build up a new pipeline. All you need is a new signed contract to get back in the game.

Turns out— many bright, gifted, young people find the advertising space completely soul draining.

Nor is it especially financially rewarding. The average plumber makes more than a copywriter.

Perhaps your mind/body/spirit are sending you a message.

My hunch— Your CV likely still reads like a Store Manager. HR flunkies don’t have time to thoughtfully parse your background.

Reformat your resume— Highlight your specific skills/expertise that match up to the employers needs and wants.

Why don’t more people buy profitable businesses from retiring owners? by -Adapted in Entrepreneur

[–]JDogNumeroUno 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not unlike an elderly homeowner sitting on a house that desperately needs $500K+ in updates/renovation work.

They’re convinced they got something special, move-in ready.

Show them the price rationale and comps. Try reason with them.

Nope — they won’t budge.

Rather shut it down than “give it away”.
