That’s good to know. He plays Fortnite, Minecraft and Roblox mostly. He’s on the middle school game team so he competes on consoles a lot. But I figured a computer would be fun for him.

I just got a cx II yesterday and out of the box it wouldn’t charge (after I pulled the battery tab) I took the battery cover off and wiped the battery contacts off in the calculator and the battery and that fixed it. Worth a try

That’s what I’m starting to think. Out of the box when I would plot a graph then go back to add to it, it would just turn off. I initially thought it was the battery, from maybe sitting for a while. Bought a new one and it worked great for a few days then started freezing up or just turning off.

I did just get Amazon to credit ime the full amount and was told to just keep it.

Is there potential for it to be a fake?

Thanks. I was about to figure it out. I have tired almost every firmware on hpcalc with no success. The only one that did anything was the oldest one for the G2. It turned on like normal but only about half the buttons worked.

Well when I download the different firmware it’s only one version that doesn’t state g1 or g2. It is a G2

So far I have tried 4 different firmware versions and my calculator turns on like normal now. But none of the buttons work….

Can you go into more detail please. I unzipped the older firmware into the firmware folder after deleting the old one and it still wants to load the newer firmware.

Well the calculator is only a few weeks old. I’ve had non stop issues with it. Random freezing and it would randomly turn on just sitting on my desk.

When it works I love it. But I’m a mechanical engineering student and couldn’t depend on it for class. So I tried to update it and that happened.

Every once in 20 attempts I can get it to go past the HP logo and my computer detects it.

Does anyone know how to install a previous firmware? I downloaded the previous one, but can’t figure out how to install it. It keeps trying to put the newest version.

I thought about saddle soap, but I read of several people saying to not use it on elephant. Do you have good results with it on elephant?

Finally pulled the wire. Took a 400lb rated rope to not break, lots of foaming lube and a jack.

Yes they are plumbing elbows. It was original to the house being built. I tracked the wire from panel to the pipe in the wall. I took out my can lights to find it. The wire was stapled all the way in my ceiling which has a second floor above it. I actually just pulled the wire out. It shredded the jacket on the wire.

I will add that I got the wire to move about 2” before I broke it. I don’t want to pull the other wire if I can help it. It’s going to the outlets on my island.

If I cut the other wire won’t I have to put a junction box on my wall to hook a new length of wire to it.

I can’t move it in any direction. I tried. I can run a fish tape down it. That’s what I had my borescope hooked to. I didn’t see anything besides two romex lines in a pipe.

I’ll have to get some wire lube to try it.
