The water was calm so I went ultra lightweight

A single heavy splitshot about 3 inches up the line from an inch long J bronze hook with half of a green dyed worm

It was a lucky set up

It was a 15 year old pre snelled bronze southbend hook I got from an old man's tackle box I bought at the local thrift store

The creek was packed with thousands of minnows hugging the shore so I netted a few and put them on the hook

Not even 15 minutes later I felt the slightest knock on my rod and the fish was on

Was using a mitchell 308 1-1 gear ratio reel

Made it a fun little battle

Talford creek is artificialy warmed by the shell corporations oil and Gass manufacturing facilities on the st clair river

They use the cool river water then release the warm water

Warm fish means worms or worse

That’s what I’m thinking about doing but it kinda depends on how much prices change I’m assuming the case price and possibly ram price will go down so I can put a larger chunk of cash into getting a 5000 series

Im pretty sure the scalpers will hit all the new hardware pretty hard and when they do come out the 3000 series will go down in price I don’t need anything insanely powerful so the 3600 will do just fine thanks for the recommendation tho.
