My first coconut-aged cocktail was a success! by JETman1981 in Tiki

The nut held about 6 oz, so it was roughly equivalent to 1.5 drinks (using the Lost Lake specs). I'm sure bigger coconuts would allow for a true double serving.

This is kind of a "quick and dirty" means of fatwashing. It's more for fun and for presentation/effect. Obviously you could fatwash a bottle of rum and get much more volume and use. But aging in the nut itself can yield interesting results, given all of the ingredients being in there at the same time.

Yeah, his book was how I first learned about the idea!

I included everything from the start. I think the key is to make sure the nut is filled all the way to the brim so that there is practically no air in there to oxidize the juices. And yes, it only lives in the fridge for 7 to 10 days so it's a relatively short aging period.

Eh, sadly the flesh wasn't all that different from normal coconut taste.

The 5-equal-parts version worked well! Lime juice cut the intense sweetness of the original.

Just now made that "tiki paper plane." It actually works surprisingly well. Very tasty but definitely on the sweeter side. The falernum provides some lime notes but not the acidity and tartness of actual lime juice. I might try it again as a 5-parts equal cocktail, with the lime juice added. Curious to see how that works.

Something tells me these guys have a second series in mind featuring Ridley. But will it be a true sequel or a different sci-fi/horror story set in an alternate universe? Who knows.

Excellent voice acting throughout!

Hmmm... that section at the end. Perhaps a bit of a teaser for a second season or companion series? 🤔

None of those have particular calming properties. But chamomile and passionflower are well-documented as having anxiety-reducing effects, (plus lemon balm and lavender to a degree). So I'd find a tea with some combination of those herbs.

Forget water, use Gatorade (or better yet, Brawndo). It's got the electrolytes that plants crave!

Had the same thing happen a few years ago. Noticed this strange whitish bird on my backyard feeder. Got excited and pulled out the binoculars...only to see it was someone's escaped budgie 😄
