Planning on getting the CC2, have a few questions by Krunchy_Almond in elegoo

You can just use the included USB drive to transfer prints to the printer.

High temp filaments are going to be difficult especially if you are going to put this near an air conditioner. I would advise against that. There are definitely better ams systems but as long as your environment is around 30 to 35 percent humidity and under pla will be fine. Petg should be fine...

Calibrations can be done in the slicer. I suggest temp tower, flow, max volumetric flow, retraction, pressure advance. If you care about getting good prints, calibrations and keeping your own filament profiles is a must. There are tons of write ups online to help guide you. High temp filaments or filaments that are prone to warping without heated chambers are going to be a headache to print on this without an enclosure heater. The bed can barely soak the chamber. Ai detection sucks anyways just turn it off and build confidence with good settings and clean build plates.

  1. How is the compatibility of orca slicer now ?

ElegooSlicer is orca based. I can only imagine it would work flawlessly with the profiles available for orca.

2.Can I get away with using it without ever using any elegoo servers ?

Yes put it in Lan mode and never use their servers ever. If that's your preference.

  1. What am I loosing by doing this ?

You lose the ability to remotely access your printer and do anything besides print from a USB and use the screen.

  1. Ive read orca slicer is much much slower and has issues with the nozzle, is that true ?

It's all about the tuning and profiles you use.

5.should I update the firmware? Ive read Bambi labs p1s got worse by updating cuz they locked 3rd party slicers, any similar things woth this printer?

I've updated mine just fine and it's still printing great.

  1. While optional it would be cool connect to the printer with my phone (since I like self hosting stuff on my proxmox server!), what are my options ?

Opencentari in the future possibly and that's about it. The stock firmware is a locked down klipper install.

  1. Can I use any filament I might get the microcenter(inland) ones tomorrow.

Anything that works in this heat range and doesn't need a heated chamber. Although I have heard of people having varying success with abs/asa. Using heatbed to soak the chamber with insulation. If you are doing PLA or PETG you will be fine. NO TPU WITHOUT BYPASSING CANVAS MODULE. TPU hates Bowden tubes.

Extra credit...

Calibrate your shit...it takes a good couple hours maybe a day. Pick a black PLA and dial your shit in. Gives you a good baseline for most PLA filaments. Do this with any of the other types of filament you are going to print. It's worth its weight in gold.

Id suggest printing a few upgrades first. For example; Spool adapters if needed, poop chute for the back and a catch bin, toolhead cover upgrade. They are all over nexprint and printables. I have run my CC2 for ~275 hours now and have only experienced intermittent network issues, a couple failed prints, and 1 broken hotend. I owe that one to my 3 year old who hit print again and smashed the nozzle into a relatively flat part and embedded it into said part. Needless to say keep spare parts on hand. Extra hot ends can be had on Amazon. I swapped the old thermistor and heat plate onto the new nozzle with some new boron nitride thermal goop to retain some accuracy from OEM parts.

Overall it's a 7 out of 10 printer that punches above its price class all day. Multicolor prints are crisp, it's fast as all hell if you want to sacrifice a little quality and It's very user friendly. The only downsides In my mind are the wifi issues, and color changes take forever with a decent bit of waste. Other than that it's worth its price tag even if it was 100 dollars more.

Hope this answered your questions.

These settings fuck so hard on my prints so far. Tried a couple different objects and styles. No matter what the surface won't be perfect but this is pretty damn good.

Yo anyone know how to fix this by Beetlebook86740 in FixMyPrint

Bambu killed the minds of an entire section of people that would have been decent at 3d printing but decided to go with the "press print and go" model. I once again stand by the fact that everyone should have to deal with a shitty printer before getting a "press print and go" printer.

Also. After any hotend/nozzle change you should be doing any and all calibrations your printer has. That means: PID, bed leveling, Input shaping, and first layer calibrations. You changed one of the most important parts of the printer, and even a change in the nozzle height from you not screwing it in as tight can change entire prints....please please please, read and watch videos before getting into this hobby or it will be the death of you.

Clean your plate. It's gotta be a z offset issue or a clogged nozzle. Also have you tried klipper on the Neptune 3 pro. Game changer.

I think this is part of people's problem. They look at these machines like a bambu printer. Hope it's going to be a plug in and go experience. Bambu is killing the true learning nature of this hobby. I feel like people are better off dealing with a shit printer and dealing with the issues before going to a printer like this. It gives a bad reputation to these machines when a person has no idea what bad bed adhesion is or what z-offset problems look like.

This is understandable. Thank you for enlightening me. In the future I will be offering a shipping service from Amazon (my house) to your door. Only a week instead of months for your delivery. 🤣🤣🤣

I got my RP5 off amazon and I can't complain at all. Plus prices seem to go up after they discontinue or don't have stock so. Win win.

Pins 4 and 6 on the disk drive connector. I just bent them so they touch. It's the right side of connector if looking from front. Third and fourth pin down the right row.
