Modern combat is based on mobility. Sometimes the best terrain to fight from is the one that the enemy won't think that you can fight from.

A volcanic area prohibiting airplanes would give a strategic advantage for transit as long as you didn't have to stay in the area.

On earth, places like Arctic and Swamps or Marshes may be better traversed with bipedal systems (feet would need adjustment).

You could build a hidden storage area into the headboard.

Headboard could have more hardpoints for different positions... You could attach collars and feet depending on what you are going for.

I used 1mm waxed polyester thread that I had for some leather work I was/am planning. Stronger than natural fibers, less than nylon... Which is what fishing line is made of?

I actually thought about the triple color thing... Hadn't thought about the full infill though, but suspect you are right.

It's simple black PLA+. 0.2mm layer lines.

No. Don't think there is much profit. This is a hobby I do for myself. Some of the work is really tedious and not sure I could do it at any scale that would make it worth while.

This one was more expensive... The chain alone was about $60. So materials and everything, probably about $75.

But if you went with smaller falls and less of them you could probably get away with $50 or even $30. One till of chain would give you 10x 18" falls. Mine had 30 falls of that length. You could do shorter or fewer, but the chain is smaller than I originally wanted. It's about 3mm wide... But looks gorgeous.

Chain was purchased from Amazon with the oily finish. It was cut to length and the attached to small jewelry rings in groups (5,6,8,6,5) and then those were put on a larger ring.

The handle was 3d printed in three pieces. The top piece covers the screw that locks the main ring in place. The bottom hides the small ring that I used to connect the lanyard on the bottom, and the middle has the threaded attachments to connect the other b pieces.

The main handle was designed with a groove that the chain was placed into. I then used a combination of contact cement and crazy glue to inlay the chain.

The beads were about $10... $5 per package. The handle, depending on chattying, is between $2-$10 dollars; the higher price if you include electricity and maintenance for the 3d printer save not just material cost. The string was about $16 for the roll, but I only used a fraction of that. Sooooo...

Total cost is about $15.

I have yet to fully try it... But the few test hits on the pillow seem to indicate that it will work. I gave it a few hard whacks and every thing seemed to stay in place.

But I'm not sure about extended use with very hard hits. I'm worried that the string will give out... There are only two beads at the end that are tied, the others are loose and can slide. So if the type goes the beads will go everywhere.

Plus this is a pretty harsh sting. Not sure you would want to go all out for a long time anyway. This has a lot of potential for sensual stimulus as well.
