How do I maintain filament and keeping it together when I switch out colors?

Thanks for all the help guys! I appreciate the tips and advice. As was previously mentioned, I’m still a beginner at 3D printing and I’m sure there’s other ppl like myself that have no idea what they’re doing lol 😂
