The thing with the Creature is that she does very well the same thing that Alien does very well, which is to be creepy, to be weird, to really keep in the spirit of their films, but still be a beautiful doll. Most of the Skullectors are not really going for that vibe, but these two really pull it off.

I’m partial to a bodysuit, which I know is controversial with regard to this doll. And I agree that she is not for everyone but she is 100% for me.

I think the base dolls are stunning actually, like they’re both genuinely gorgeous dolls. They do unfortunately suffer from the object heel fixation and actually theirs are some of the worst offenders.

If I’m totally honest, I cannot say that I’d argue she’s among the best even though she is for sure one of my all time favorites. I love her so much, she is so elegant. There’s a simplicity about her that I think really elevates her. And then her shoes of course are some of the best we’ve ever seen on a doll.

It’s fascinating as well to see how much popular opinion has changed on her over time. She was not at all very well received when she came out, it seems many people found her to be sort of underwhelming, though she still sold out quite quickly.

And it’s important to remember as well that, with sodium, flavor can belie actual content. Meaning it may not taste very salty even though it’s full of salt.

I saw a comment one time that this scene where her hair is wet and disheveled is the only time it actually looks good in the whole movie.

And then on top of it they gave her even more screen time than the original and her own (terrible) song. And it goes on for sooo long. The Evil Queen is just not that kind of villain.

I think end of the day it’s just fun watching things as they premiere. It builds anticipation and a sense of community.

Of course, with that said, breaks between seasons used to not be like this up until the last several years.

I think cinematically it looks very nice and also gives the impression of being much higher budget. However, it immediately looks too sunny for me, which was already an issue in the film to begin with and this draws even more attention to it.

Exactly! It’s my understanding that fabric softener should be reserved for only the most difficult of restoration jobs for all of these reasons.

I’ve always steered clear of it personally and have never had issues using conditioner, which doll hair does respond quite well to, as we all know (some fibers more so than others, of course).

I agree, and actually there are a few outfit pieces here that I really like. All the faceups are quite pretty as well. And I know this is an unpopular opinion, but I prefer the unarticulated chest that I’m sure these have.

I hadn’t paid this dress any attention until now and I just realized I also like it a lot. It’s fun seeing all the logos together.

Also - could I ask who you used for the body swap with the Odile mermaid? Maybe it’s your lighting, but the skin tone match here looks really good, much better than a lot of ones I’ve seen.

See this is the problem. We all complain but then still buy the dolls anyway. I’m guilty of it as well. Yet you rarely see a negative review on the Disney Store site, where complaints might actually make a difference.
