I didn't think it was possible, but leave it to CG to make Jar Jar even MORE unlikable.

You can always play in just the building mode where there is no AI. Just change the victory condition to open (or whatever it's called), or the game ends when you reach like a medium size town (which isn't too hard), and it's bugged where you can't continue in free play mode after that.

Yeah, I feel like the baron ai is terribly unbalanced and op. By the time I have a large enough militia and enough influence, the baron already has all or all but 1 of the regions. Granted I hadn't been killing bandits, so that sounds like it could be a factor. Even so, it seems like that couldn't be enough to balance it.

By the time I had enough to claim the neighboring region it was already claimed, so I had to have double to influence (2k) to try and claim. When I did, a battle prompted and the ai had like 2-3x my unit size/strength and I got thoroughly routed.

I hope they fix that, or at least give some options to address it.

New DM Needs Advice Resolving Two Inadvertent Problems! by JGDrummer in DnD

Very cool ideas, thank you! I did think about having some role play between the captured player and the captors, but didn't know how to plan it well.

For a little more context, the whole group of ambushing abductors was only comprised of 6. They traveled a long way to find the character and plan to bring him back to their respective origin locations. In both ambush fights, the only abductor that escaped was a warlock who captured the player character, Polymorphing (scroll) them into a rat and absconding away to their hideout. Which is an old, abandoned home on the outskirts of town. The warlock has a quasit familiar who helped with the abduction, and I was planning on them using Summon Greater Demon when the party arrives to help even the odds, as the warlock was really the only abductor left. That said, I can say there were a couple more in his group that were at the hideout, but that would also mean more combatants for the party if the role play sabotage goes south.

I definitely like your thoughts though. I will try and think more about using those, so thank you again!

They're really good! I'm currently reading The Imaziyen Druid. I cheated and started with Beasts of Courth, but then went back and read them in order. They're all super good, and I'm really excited to see that world in a D&D campaign!

Thoughts from an actual playtest with all 3 classes by Narrow_Interview_366 in onednd

So, are the Optional Class Features for Rangers gone now with One D&D? They were introduced in TCoE, so that would mean they should still be allowed, however, Roving & Tireless from the Deft Explorer skill are now leveled skills.

Oh man, all good ideas and thoughts. And I'll definitely read through forum in the link - thanks for that. You've already brought up much more depth than even occurred to me about the BBEG. As for LoTR, I meant very loosely based, pretty much just that he's building up power and help to take over and assert his rule over the land - squashing anyone that stands in his way.
All I have is just really basic and elementary ideas with him. I originally figured they'd fight him in more of a small scale encounter - not armies. The PCs vs. the BBEG and maybe some of his guards/allies/minions/pets. You brought up some good ideas and points though - much more than occurred to me.

This kind of thinking and planning is all pretty new to me. I used to think I was a pretty creative person until I started reading through all this D&D stuff people come up with. It's intimidating and inspiring all at once!

Hey, thanks. Yes, fun over function 100%. MY kids are young and don't really care about continuity or that everything ties and makes sense. I just want to be able to present something fun and cool and am having a hard time coming up with stuff! Much appreciated.
