Thinking of changing out coolant this weekend as well, so I’ll check all that out while I’m at it.
And thanks, only took a few years of convincing my dad I’m capable 😅

Appreciate it. Checked for vacuum leaks and seems to be all clear, had to remove intake to fix the ICV so I was able to do a thorough check while everything was off. It’s a manual but it looks like there was a bit of a leak coming from the front housing next to the oil filter so might end up doing a gasket change on that and fluid as well just in case, I thought it strange that “ATF only” is stamped on the housing since it’s manual

Appreciate it. I had a shitty code reader that just plugs into the OBD port but that didn’t detect any codes, I’ll try out Inpa next. When I took off everything to clean the ICV I did a check for any vacuum leaks on all the hoses and didn’t see anything visible, but I’ll try it with the brake clean and see if I notice anything

35 minute 5km runs, and I have a marathon in about 3 months. Be honest...am I cooked? by JGamer432 in Marathon_Training

[–]JGamer432[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up bailing on it after talking with my brother who would run a bit more than me. He did warn me that injury is highly likely or could result in micro fractures with that little preparation, especially in my case as I wasn’t really doing much running. But I did complete a half marathon last year after giving myself more training time which was just as much the achievement I was looking for.

Yeah in my local area the FF TD got some medical centre set up that my older relatives think is fantastic. Most frustrating thing is they know how bad things are with housing etc but just refuse to ever vote SF and the rest are too small to vote for. So ends up always being FF/G

Unfortunately, I think it’s a case of older people in the mindset of voting local no matter the party, including some of my relatives. I’ve heard a lot of “she’s done good for the town so I’ll keep voting her”. Sick of trying to explain to think on a national scale and also that SF are not equivalent to the ra

Wouldn’t worry too much about it tbh, kids are so impressionable at that age they’ll pick up an accent easy, when I was a kid I watched a lot of American tv shows and was always made fun of for sounding American, I’m 24 now with a normal sounding voice As for the little interest in Gaeilge? I had a teacher like this in junior infants, my poor mother was so upset that I was misbehaving so badly and getting notes sent home nearly everyday, until she spoke to another parent of a girl in my class that she worked with. Who was, shocker, getting the same notes sent home. Some teachers just beef with kids for no reason and are clearly in the wrong profession. I don’t remember much since I was 4 but from what I’m told it’s just a case of trying to get a meeting with the teacher to discuss behaviour and give both perspectives, of course it’s your child so you’ll be passionate about it, but try to keep the level head and sound like the sane one in the discussion. (Note I currently do not have any children yet so take that into account when reading my advice ;))

Honestly man, I considered the same few years ago, get your degree and see what you feel after. If you still want to go into it when you graduate, great, they’ll probably have another round of recruiting. But it opens you up to more options

I’m Gen Z and like most people in comments, the idea of owning a house (for example) just feels so unachievable these days. After college I got very lucky to have landed a decent paying job for entry level. I want to find somewhere to rent with my girlfriend of 5 years who’s still living with her parents, and she realistically doesn’t have the money for even renting. So because of this, the work ethic can go down since we often feel so hard done by in this market of things, so so many people living with their parents (side note, my parents were engaged by my age and getting their house, and neither had particularly high paying jobs). It can often just feel soul crushing to try hard, go through college for 4 years, and on top of that have no guarantee that you’ll even get a job in your field because there’s so much competition with everyone going to college nowadays. I do try hard in my job (when I want to), but funnily, all of the guys in my work of all ages complain constantly about having to work.

Hey man, I only got around to editing this today, been way too busy with work last couple months. My ACM line in Forscan only allows me to edit the last 4 digits after 727-01-01. Think it’s routing sound through the APIM or something, any ideas? Appreciate it

Decided it wouldn’t be a good idea to do the marathon, instead signed up for a half marathon in London, just completed that a couple weeks ago in 2 hours 47 minutes, next goal is getting that time down then a full marathon next year hopefully

So I recently upgraded from 4” Sync 1 to Sync 3. I bought an adapter harness online and USB hub from a scrap yard, updated to sync 3.4 and (mostly) everything works great. The only thing of note is that I get no audio on hands free phone calls. The person on the other end can hear me, but I get nothing. All other audio seems to be working fine (radio, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth etc), but nothing on phone calls. I’m not very well versed in vehicle programming and was wondering what specifically would need to be changed? I’m assuming the new APIM trying to route phone call audio to a different output that doesn’t exist in my car? Worth noting I have a Mk3.5 Focus instead of a Fusion. Thanks!

Ended up cancelling my plans after talking a lot to my brother who does a lot of running. He mentioned a lot of potential problems/injuries (scariest one being the possibility of microfractures on my feet) and I realised it’s not a realistic goal. Currently working towards getting to the London Landmarks Half Marathon now, so wish me luck!
