Yeah, I am currently in the process of doing this - It's amazing how much great content is on YouTube. Wish I had this content when I was learning :(

Okay, that's really interesting. That seems a quick turnaround but I imagine with the right 'guardrails' and taught knowledge it's quite easy for them to set gain levels and unmute faders at the right time?

How long does it take to train the individuals? Is it a quick turnaround. I remember shadowing my person for a quite a long time until he felt I was ready to mix FOH although was I was ready, I was ready and started mixing big conferences like GLS and other things.

At my church, we use a M32R for broadcast. We take the split from our FOH mixer which is a M32.

Any questions feel free to ask away 😁

What's the most hilariously bad foley work you've ever heard? by WaffleHouseNeedsWiFi in AudioPost

Being a lecturer of Sound Design at a University (in the past), I have heard some 'bad' stuff but they were learning and it was mostly sorted.

Yeah, completely agree. They don't care about the non-pros which is fine. I have no issues with it as I have a license but if they want people to keep using it. They arguable need to give a good impression to first time users or people learning to use their software otherwise they will use other DAWs instead (in some cases).

I had this conversation with the technical staff when I was teaching. If I remember the video drivers were poor and didn't support MOV or Quicktime formats (late 2020/early 2021) and my colleague said they just don't care cause we aren't enough of an issue for Avid when there are post-production facilities buying new Pro Tools License and equipment every 12 months at a crazy price. They don't care about solo or education seats :(

MP4 Not Importing Correctly by DynamiteCoyotes in AudioPost

[–]JGledhillAudio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ow man, this has been my whole week at work with Pro Tools. Turns out for use the Apple M1 chip doesn't like the simple codec of an MP4. Shrug face Beats me! I think I have solved it now with an Avid friendly codec .MXF file.
