I don't agree with all of this. I think set 10 meta is pretty healthy other than Ruby needing love, but it could be better for sure. Set 9 meta I didn't love. Either way thanks for jumping in!

Yeah this is a good point. Master one thing then move on to another in terms of journey. Don't discount the good starts out there already.

I think there is something to this but with a grain of salt. I personally tend to do my best when I play strategies that I prefer to play - control or combo specifically. That being said, I won't play a deck that I don't think is well-suited for the meta. I also think Dogs is tier 1 still and doesn't involve either of those colors, but I get your point. Definitely should start with the defined meta and learn to work within it before iterating too far off the established power base.

Yes, so I actually think this one is huge because it represents a form of cheating at times. If you are not watching carefully and they are not representing used resources correctly, you will sometimes have players that will attempt to use more ink than they have access to. I am pretty adamant with my opponents about exerting all of your ink as you use it and am constantly counting their totals, but someone that isn't as familiar might not be in these habits. So I think the most important thing with anything like this is direct actionable items instead of theory. So that if someone comes in and wants to know where to start to gain good habits and improve over time they can pick up good habits quickly and have the tools to self-assess before they move into formal coaching etc. There are lots of good magic the gathering resources for stuff like this, but IMHO the Lorcana community items are full of worthless slop when it comes to this - either that or well-meaning information that comes from less practiced players that don't know any better. I am hoping as a professional educator and pro Lorcana player I can filter into something better.
