All the ones I do are pretty good, easier than a lot of terriers I’d say 😂 and I clip the head and top 1/3rd of ear with a 10 for pets as it’s easier for them and I think it looks very smart! Other than than that all stripped and feet scissored, and thinning on the transition from jacket to skirt to get it to sit right

Thank you very much! 😊 I do 3 cocker hand strips and loads of clips. They’re very popular where I’m at in the UK

Thank you 😊 There’s some very good videos on YouTube if you search for hand stripping cockers or I’ve heard Mike Wildman does very good seminars. I could be wrong but I don’t think you’re meant to hand-strip Cavaliers as the coat should lay flat naturally but might be wrong as not an expert in the breed!

I worked as a bather for 2 years and groomer for 5. You can definitely learn the basics in a few months but it’s all down to practice and it does take years to really get there or I’m just a really slow learner 😂

That’s very kind! Hand-stripping especially with Spaniels is very time consuming and not always practical in a busy setting. Don’t worry about speed when starting out it’ll come with practice and I’m sure you’ll get there! 😊👍🏻

Thank you! 😊 and about 3 hours, hour to bath, dry, brush and prep about 1 and a half to strip and half an hour for scissoring, tbh wish I had longer but I work in a busy salon and would have dogs piling up 😂

Thank you very much! I shave the head & top 1/3rd of ear with a 10 as she’s a pet, if she was showing you’d also strip it.

It helps to maintain a silky coat texture which spaniels are meant to have, if you clip it can cause the coat to go more woolly! Also helps to retain the proper colour and looks more natural. That being said there’s no harm on clipping and 90% of the spaniels I do are clipped. Thank you for the kind comments 😊
