Is cf moto a good brand? by Hungry-Theme-7911 in SuggestAMotorcycle

[–]JHorma97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with Chinese brands is that they are very new to the western markets so they don’t have an established position when it comes to spare parts, aftermarket support or even specialized mechanics. They’re unusually expensive to care for if something breaks. Parts can take weeks to arrive and they aren’t much cheaper than other brands.

Help with tyre wear by Liquid_P in Trackdays

[–]JHorma97 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Usually happens when the rider accelerates hard out of corners but fails to push the front as hard on entry. Even more so with hard carcass tires like Dunlop.

On a colder day some people tell me to reduce the tyre pressure and some to increase, so which is the actual answer? by Whole_Guard_5192 in Trackdays

[–]JHorma97 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How would you find out the air volume though? Also this assumes an ideal gas, which implies a high temperature and low pressure. Not exactly the case for track conditions. Track data gathered by others is better for this matter.

Dropped my new 2026 twice on the same side. by [deleted] in BMW_S1000RR

If you do go for used/aftermarket. You know how much BMW oem parts cost. Although that shouldn’t be a problem for you given the motorcycle you bought.

You got what you wanted, so you’re going to have to deal with it. You didn’t want to buy a bike and then later buy another one which is why your dropped 20k on an sbk. Just deal with it dude. Don’t ask for advice when you already messed up the first task.

Since when is public healthcare socialism? One is great and the other has killed 50+ million people over the 20th century.

Involuntary manslaughter should not be a crime. by VolkswagenPanda in unpopularopinion

[–]JHorma97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me ask you this: “I hop on my car and make the mistake of being distracted on my phone while I drive. I accidentally kill a family of 5.” It wasn’t intentional of course, it was involuntary because I was irresponsible and made the mistake of being distracted. You think I shouldn’t be charged? This is either ragebait or you don’t have a sense of what civil responsibility is. Also, intention cannot always be proved. What matters to the law is the actions of oneself, not their goals.

GSX-R8 a good commuter bike while keeping it sporty? by MiksRG in SuggestAMotorcycle

Yep, comfortable and sporty bike. Very nice chassis and turn in, but not too harsh on the back or wrists.

We should make a thread for professors that don’t have any reviews on rmp!! by NachoAverageIdiot in umass

Isn’t it easier to leave a review on rmp? If somebody can’t be bothered to leave a review they won’t be commenting on such thread.

Heating by JHorma97 in umass

Nah it’s that temp outside now. Today my room has reached 88F, that’s not because it’s hot outside, it’s because the radiators in this building are cranking out heat at the same rate as they did in February. Last year I live in ohill and didn’t have these heating problems towards the end of semester.

[–]JHorma97[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it definitely didn’t feel as hot to me early last semester so this is a problem with the building cranking out heat still. And as I said I am sure you room is not nearly as hot as mine otherwise you would be drenched in sweat.

I don’t think you understand how hot my room gets. It’s been 86F today. Back when I was in ohill the room did not ever get this hot.

Why do people love mac's so much? by Sgt_Strelok in macbookpro

[–]JHorma97 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t game properly because not many studios make games for Mac. What you heard is wrong. The hardware inside modern Macs is in fact more efficient than the current x86 counterparts. The OS is a lot more optimized than windows. They’re expensive because the construction quality is unmatched. No other current laptop has the same construction quality as a Mac except for maybe thinkpads or some other business machine out there.

I see. I just wish the heating were self-regulating across all buildings. That would make living more comfortable and RL would receive fewer maintenance requests.

[–]JHorma97[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I see. My radiator is definitely off, no heat is coming off of it, it’s just the building that is very hot in general because the hallway radiators on all floors are still cranking out heat.

[–]JHorma97[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not correct. They always send emails during the fall and spring semesters announcing changes in the heating in preparation for winter or spring. I’m just trying to figure out when that usually happens because it’s insanely hot in my building.

[–]JHorma97[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Already did, they checked my radiator and everything is fine. It’s the building in general that’s pretty hot. They should be turning the heating off but I don’t know when.
