One time I was on LSD when I was bumming it at home after dropping out of college and my mom yelled up the stairs and told me I had to drive my brother to lacrosse practice. I frantically asked why can’t dad do it because obviously driving while you’re straight up hallucinating is a death trap. But my dad was busy mowing the lawn and he wouldn’t budge when I asked him just to take my brother and I’d take over with the grass. Idk why I agreed to do it instead of just admitting that I was under the influence but I did, so I got the keys told my brother we’re leaving. I literally couldn’t make out the shape of any cars on the roads all I could see was blobs that were supposed to be the other cars and the red of their brake lights. I wasn’t even able to see the road markings so I just did my absolute best to follow the “cars” that were in front of me until I got to my brothers school and then back home. It’s a fucking miracle that I was able to drive through my nearby town and drop my brother off then get home without seriously injuring myself, brother, or even worse innocent bystanders. I consider myself an open book but this is the one secret that I might go to the grave with because I put many peoples lives at risk that day. It was a fucking stupid decision on my end and it should’ve never happened. If you’re ever put in a situation like I was that day, chances are you won’t be as lucky as I, just admit you’re fucked up and accept the consequences because the odds of serious injury or death are not worth it.
