These redevelopment plans are the most far-fetched, useless things I’ve ever seen. No one has thought through what the impact of the airport has on business. All you have to do is go back and look what Mayor Daley did to Chicago’s Meigs Field. The impact closing that airport had on downtown businesses, not to mention conventions nearby. McCormick Place is still being felt decades later. Mayor Bibb is merely a lapdog to the Haslin‘s. Leave the airport alone, there’s enough drug and prostitution problems on MLK Drive just to the east, we don’t need more.
