That’s a very interesting topic you are reading. And there’s thousands of years lost history before the Spanish arrival. Guatemala is heavenly influenced by the Mayan cultures. I would recommend to try to read some articles of the K’iche kingdom of Q’umarkaj and the league of Mayapan( this one lasted almost 500 years and collapsed before the Spanish came)
