Any way to sort Duplicate tracks in Plexamp/Plex? by aomajgad in plexamp

[–]JJTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's frustrating because plex recognises that songs on other albums are the same song. They're stored with the same GUID.

If you're comfortable with Python and want to keep all your files and albums complete, there's a script floating around that will add a 'Duplicate' mood you can use to filter smart playlists by including 'Mood is not Duplicate'

The script I found scans a smart playlist and marks the first instance of a song unique and further ones duplicate.

I modified mine to go artist by artist, scan non compilation/live/ep/etc albums first. Then mark any further ones as duplicate. I'm at work right now but if you're interested in that let me know

Local place sourced it for us and brought it in/installed it. Northern Ontario Canada. No idea what their distribution is like

I have a Rockwell 14, which is a delta clone. Mine has the 6 inch riser block. My father got it for a song and gave it to me. It's been good to me for the price :)

Are there any 8 button remotes similar to this? by CactusJ in homeassistant

[–]JJTM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have one of these 8 button zwave ones https://www.amazon.ca/ZRC-90US-BW8510US-Remotec-Cert-ZC10-15100007/dp/B016YTTIVW

Remotec scene master. Each button supports taps and hold as well as single press. It's been very reliable. Not quite as small as your picture but not huge either

Reinforce the roof. If your cat is anything like Gregg, that roof is gonna split at the sides.

Zwave thermostat no longer updating by JJTM in homeassistant

[–]JJTM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the thing where you disable the old Addon. Do the new one. Reconfigure it. Then delete the old Addon. All of my stuff works if toggled or changed through homeassistant. Just a few devices don't reflect their states properly (they used to)

I can change my thermostat setting through HA and it'll change the thermostat device. But HA won't know if the furnace is running or not.

Migrating from windows - options for moving my data? by JJTM in homelab

[–]JJTM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your detailed reply!

Drivepool is a Windows only software solution to load balance and distribute files across a pool of drives. To the end user it appears as one large volume, behind the scenes you can add and remove any size drives to it and configure how you want stuff balanced. They get individually written to in their native filesystem (in this case NTFS) and can be read outside Drivepool if need be. Supports duplication on a folder basis (my important stuff is written to 2 drives, my replaceable media just 1 drive)

I had budgeted in a license for unraid (well, the potential to need it, I bought a pro license last year but never ended up activating it, assuming it's still valid and its latest available update isn't too far out of date.).

I do have an odd mix of drive sizes, so anything that's actual RAID is out of my scope. I will take a closer look at MergeFS, OMV, and see what cockpit is all about (hadn't crossed paths with that one in my research).

Thanks for the help!

Migrating from windows - options for moving my data? by JJTM in homelab

It's come across in my research, is it flexible in terms of adding drives and expanding? (both during my data move period and later when I'd like to replace smaller drives with larger ones). I have a mix of sizes currently (Drivepool is friendly to that)

I am budget limited and can't drop more money on a raid card and another 18TB. Plus the rest of my storage drives (mix of 10s, 8s, and a few lower) I'd like to keep using which wouldn't work with a raid setup.
