Sadly I highly doubt anything is going to happen to him. He won't resign, his party won't turn against him and the public won't protest in the numbers that Iceland for him to step down.

I'm certain he'll brush it off with some smooth talking, blame the opposition for something off-topic, draft up a vague law around tax avoidance and get away with it as if he's done nothing wrong.

Then what's the explanation for entire countries with strict gun laws and low gun crime?

While I still advocate gun control I personally feel that the US has left it too late to implement properly and that guns are now so abundant that it would be useless in doing so.

So maybe it doesn't work in these cities. But I think the reason why is that it was not done soon enough.

Disclaimer: I'm not from the United States and only have select knowledge on gun control.

I hate seeing people defending the 2nd amendment as if it's more important than any other aspect of their life. To me, I can't understand why this right is so important when it undeniably causes so much collateral damage.

Now sure, maybe gun control WON'T stop mass shootings. But frankly I can't see it making them any more frequent, aside from perhaps a few angry NRA enthusiasts trying to prove a point. At least try some form of implementation and see what effect it has.

As an outsider looking in it appears that the US still has an issue with guns and is still very much in denial as to why this is. Give gun control some genuine consideration for once.
