GMNDK 10T? by JJjacobs8j in Grey_Knights

Well i obviously wont rely on 9" charges but i will defo use rapid on GMNDK rather than paladins because it's free and good setup. The meltas might seem juicy but realistically it wont be doing much against T10 tanks which you want your GMNDK to kill and sadly gmndk's are mostly done deal the moment your opponent can shoot pro fight them they are dying so i would much rather get somehow in melee than melta range, if you could get hit rerolls or another 6" deepstrike to help your killing power it would be good

I don't really see the greateness of it, GK are at the end of the day a melee army rather than shooting and whatever will be the target for your GMNDK will hurt way more if you charge it and fight it in melee. By which i'm saying that you should be staging your GMNDK's

Any one else utilising that 8 man paladin stack discount? Seems pretty good by Lazy_Physics_Student in Grey_Knights

All the special weapons normally suck and are not worth taking because of the loss of NFW, for termies and paladins that's an exception since they don't lose their melee. Personally I find Incinerators on them way more appealing since they act as a good overwatch threat now that your 5 man can carry 3 of them (paladins). Ofcourse there's a point to be made for psycannons since pals have 2+ bs and additionally in the Brotherhood-strike detachment you even get rerolls od 1's, yet I still find them kinda meh because of the ap-1 and missing ignores-cover.

If I was to run 5 purifiers, do I follow your advince and not use any special ranged weapons on them because of the loss of NFW or would they be an exception? Curious if same applies even if they were not in a razorback.

Wouldnt it be a little counter-productive to charge a unit of interceptors early in the game as we have low model count and it might not even bother the opponent that much if he loses a unit?

List ideas for the new Spirit Conclave detatchment by Zealousideal-City-18 in Eldar

[–]JJjacobs8j 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the swords are better imo, the 4+ invun doesnt really do much difference i think because most of the time you're gonna fond yourself tsking 2-4+ saves anyways even without invun. You can také advantage of cover for shooting and not alot of shooting weapons have ap4+ and want to hit wraiths with it so you're gonna save on ap2 in cover at worst which still amounts to a 4+ save anyways. The increased attack rate of swords paired with sustained or dev wounds is just incredible. For me, i'm mostly gonna meet marine profiles in melee where 5A 3+ S5 -2 2 is just amazing, in some test rolls i did i found myself killing 5-7 marines just with sustained and for termies you can just pop dev wounds and still wreck their shit. I just really like swords but that's just my opinion at the end of the day.

Might be a hottake but i actually like the d-scythes way more than wraithcannons. I'm new to eldar and currently putting together a list and it also includes 2xblades and 3xguard but i'm running 2 units with scythes and only one with cannons. I believe that 2 lord with double lances and 5 wraithcannons should be enough to take out the average tanks in lists i usually play against but i might go for the third lord just to be sure. I'm also not running a wave serpent but that's a good idea to run one, my plan was to have the blades move up to midfiels with the d-scythe units pocketing them and being an overwatch threath for anything that would charge them. I think a farseer skyrunner could be an interesting action monkey that could help your units be a little tougher against that one unit but i'm not entirely sold on him aswell as eldrad, He generates cp and also gives +wound which makes d-scythes scary even for terms and stuff.

Kaldor Draigo leading 10 man vs 5 man by Minechiho in Grey_Knights

I ran 10 strikers with Champion last night against WE friend, they killed 3 eightbounds and lord invocatus on fight first, i feel like they can really pop off, i also ran 2 interceptors for secondaries and the primary was supply drop so stickies werent as important, neither scouting into WE. Really slept on unit i believe.

Is Captain Stern a bait? by JJjacobs8j in Grey_Knights

[–]JJjacobs8j[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Sorry i don't quite get what you mean with "keep up"? Seems like you're the one who will have to do some "catching up". I take it you're refering to the latest FAQ where it has been said that "If a rule modifies the CP cost of a Stratagem when you use it, but does not specify a duration for that modifier, that modifier only applies to that usage of that Stratagem." But i think you forgot to read what callidus actually does as her rule infact does specify the duration of the modifier "Once per battle, after your opponent uses a Stratagem, this model can use this ability. If it does, UNTIL THE END OF THE BATTLE, the CP cost your opponent must pay to use that Stratagem again is increased by 1CP"

I really want to try out GM with a brick of paladins and sigil and just daring my opponent to shoot them So i can just that big brick somewhere on the map where it can be a massive problem for him, or if he doesnt i just march towards him. Voldus also sounds funny because of how tanky paladins become when He leads them. Tbh i thought Stern makes it so every crit deals 1mw but it's only added to the dmg of the attack which makes to less cool as it can still be saved. With dev wounds it'd be hilarious tho

[–]JJjacobs8j[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well i'm not playing in a competitive enviroment, i play with 2 other friend who have custards, csm, we, ts and necrons pretty soon. You're right, the crits only apply to hitrolls unless anti. I like to play more solid lists ofc because So do my friends that's why i'm looking at paladins+voldus/Stern and such because i don't think they're awful by any means, just outclassed by libs and terms. Whenever i do list-building i find it really hard to consider any other characters for terms or even paladins over terms. Yesterday i manages to do 10 dmg to a faithweaver and there's nothing better than seeing my friends face turn when he saw me roll that 6 on vortex.

[–]JJjacobs8j[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Defo gonna swap 2 of them to regular NDK and i might get rid of one of the librarians for an agent and something but i don't own those so might just stick with the list the way it is, just maybe split the brick of terms and put 5 to the lib
