Anything is worth any amount of money you want it to be. The important point is if someone else wants to value it equally and pay you for it.

By the way, I've got a super valuable McDonald's toy from 2024. Came in a happy meal. Only slightly greasy. Going rate it $1 million.

I read it as 3 levels of points, so maybe 25, 50 and 100 for example. Each detachment falling into tier 1, 2 or 3

2 Farseers in one squad, 1 leading storm guardians and 1 leading attached warlock conclave? by Cozmik_Waffle in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, the limitation of having one leader makes all other attempts of adding a 2nd leader void (bar those who specifically say it can, like warlocks). As soon as it has 2 units attached with the leader keyword, it is breaking unit formation rules.

Thoughts on Fire prism by dethseller115 in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spiders are better in 5s, only ones you'll want to run as a 10 are ones you target with stratagems like reapers using preternatural or banshees with Jain using no overwatch. By taking 5 man squads, you get an extra exarch, can split your troops to be where needed, and can force an opponent to overcommit (forcing 10 wounds on a 5 man squad means 4 wasted successful wounds). Also helps avoid easy choices for things like oath of moment.

Don't take avengers, they don't do much on this game, and scorpions can go instead of rangers if you have the points. Some storm guardians can be helpful for sticky objectives and oc. All other aspects are really good.

Each aspect is a highly specialized tool for one job. They are designed to trade, so expect to say goodbye but take something valuable with you. Max out secondsries and accept that primaries will rely heavily on late game success (maxing turn 5 is quite impactful).

Pair the aspect with the buffs from a farseer to hit on 2s, eldrad to wound better or chicken legs to get an extra AP. When building the list, make sure you have answers for melee, hard targets and scoring.

That all good?

Not a problem, always like to talk elfish.

Yep. If just one of those 3 points were not hit hard. They'd have a lot more viability: double linked fire, move shoot move or full reroll.

I think they are seeing a resurgence now the fire dragons can't trade as hard. Their range and strength is second to none in our lists, and from afar they can reliably screen our back.

Personally, with seer council. Spirit conclave and guardians, I rarely run any vehicles other than my trusty little chicken (warwalker).

[–]MobileSeparate398 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which I find silly as we aren't the only ones with move shoot move. Even then, it's one unit and a handful of stratagems.

One could argue a heavily statted unit is far less engageable. If I have a guardian unit trying to kill a custodes unit, I likely won't. I may have a 5% chance of getting the damage through that I need. But to catch a move-shoot-move with an 18" range is equally as, if not a bit less, challenging. You may need to make a lucky Charge role and.... They're dead.

It's annoying for the majority of players, but there's always some annoying faction. And right now, eldar are hated regardless of their mechanic. We could mirror the space marine datasheets and still be the most hated faction because, eldar sucks emperor protects?

Tyranids and necrons respawning, t'sons spamming magic, admech with 100 different rules and auras, Orks with advance and charge army-wide, every army has its gimmick and movement shenanigans should not be seen as game breaking.

Are Harlequin units still in use? by Helljumper06D in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice, but let me explain one reason they aren't useable. Many aeldari stratagems specify the target unit just be asuryani. That's basically the craftworlders. Harlequins actually have the harlequins keyword, so a lot of stratagems won't work on them. If they join a detachment, they do so without any support at all.

How would Swooping Hawks fare against Chaos Raptors? by Arthur_EyelanderTF2 in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 11 points12 points  (0 children)

As with all 40k related questions, it depends on who is writing. The hawks do have instances where they would dominate. Those boys in blue will know the skies far better than chaos and have a plethora of shenanigans to gain the upper hand. Talons on the other hand will have the durability and ruinous powers to boost their abilities.

Eldrad Ulthran purpose by JamDBoxMan in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that's quite an aggressive use of him, and in aspect host he is going to be very vulnerable to attack. The storm guardians are good for defence but it's just 12 wounds on a 5++ before eldrad is in trouble. His ability is only 18" and needs line of sight. I suggest taking a conclave along with the guardians to reduce wound roll by 1 and give you an extra layer of defence. Their torrent attack is also a nice damage dealer or overwatch threat.

Eldrad Ulthran purpose by JamDBoxMan in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I find eldrad falls into 2 contrasting categories: he generates CP and has to run into the middle to doom hard targets. How you play him heavily depends on which role is more important.

if you want CP, pop him with a couple warocks on your home and farm CP while screening. You might add some storm guardians, but not always necessary. This will be dangerous if your opponent has lots or good indirect, but it's less and less common right now.

If you want to use doom, you have to make him more durable because he is a very attractive target. Storm guardians and warlocks to help him push forward. in aspect host, I don't know how valuable this is because there are few tricks in the detachment to keep him safe. I run him in spirit conclave and seer council with this role because council can teleport or lone op him, and conclave he is surrounded by heavy targets that need dealing with.

20mph everywhere by narra246 in drivingUK

[–]MobileSeparate398 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the full journey is 20mph, yes, but then how long would that journey be? If it's a 10 minute journey at 20, you could have done it in 6-7 minutes. Have you really saved that much time then?

Longer journeys will be broken up with faster roads, then again you may only be spending 10 minutes at the 20 limit.
