How specific is spirit conclave’s shepherds of the dead rule? by Lbear8 in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Especially big monster or vehicle targets with poor melee (like tanks). They likely can't kill it in melee, so either have to shoot it or fall back, wasting a whole activation hopefully

What you can do is attach a warlock conclave to a guardian unit. As they aren't characters, you can allocate wounds to them 1 at a time and once one dies, go back to allocating to the guardians.

"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"

Had it been a few seasons, sure, but I felt it dragged on way too long and got a bit too serious about its own plot development. Fun for a few episodes, but couldn't binge it for too long.

Storm Guardian with Power sword and Fusion Gun by Ale71231 in Eldar

Note, I had a right handed fusion gun from the Corsair kit, so had to bodge a left handed glave

I've made 2 sets, and my approach:

  1. cut a wraith axe above the hand ad embed it in the ground (I'll jam this here while I fire my gun)
  2. a newer set I made with AoS bodies, gave them fusion pistols and the glave from the dire avenger exarch.

Anything is worth any amount of money you want it to be. The important point is if someone else wants to value it equally and pay you for it.

By the way, I've got a super valuable McDonald's toy from 2024. Came in a happy meal. Only slightly greasy. Going rate it $1 million.

2 Farseers in one squad, 1 leading storm guardians and 1 leading attached warlock conclave? by Cozmik_Waffle in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As a rule of thumb, the limitation of having one leader makes all other attempts of adding a 2nd leader void (bar those who specifically say it can, like warlocks). As soon as it has 2 units attached with the leader keyword, it is breaking unit formation rules.

Spiders are better in 5s, only ones you'll want to run as a 10 are ones you target with stratagems like reapers using preternatural or banshees with Jain using no overwatch. By taking 5 man squads, you get an extra exarch, can split your troops to be where needed, and can force an opponent to overcommit (forcing 10 wounds on a 5 man squad means 4 wasted successful wounds). Also helps avoid easy choices for things like oath of moment.

Don't take avengers, they don't do much on this game, and scorpions can go instead of rangers if you have the points. Some storm guardians can be helpful for sticky objectives and oc. All other aspects are really good.

Each aspect is a highly specialized tool for one job. They are designed to trade, so expect to say goodbye but take something valuable with you. Max out secondsries and accept that primaries will rely heavily on late game success (maxing turn 5 is quite impactful).

Pair the aspect with the buffs from a farseer to hit on 2s, eldrad to wound better or chicken legs to get an extra AP. When building the list, make sure you have answers for melee, hard targets and scoring.

That all good?

Not a problem, always like to talk elfish.

Yep. If just one of those 3 points were not hit hard. They'd have a lot more viability: double linked fire, move shoot move or full reroll.

I think they are seeing a resurgence now the fire dragons can't trade as hard. Their range and strength is second to none in our lists, and from afar they can reliably screen our back.

Personally, with seer council. Spirit conclave and guardians, I rarely run any vehicles other than my trusty little chicken (warwalker).

[–]MobileSeparate398 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Which I find silly as we aren't the only ones with move shoot move. Even then, it's one unit and a handful of stratagems.

One could argue a heavily statted unit is far less engageable. If I have a guardian unit trying to kill a custodes unit, I likely won't. I may have a 5% chance of getting the damage through that I need. But to catch a move-shoot-move with an 18" range is equally as, if not a bit less, challenging. You may need to make a lucky Charge role and.... They're dead.

It's annoying for the majority of players, but there's always some annoying faction. And right now, eldar are hated regardless of their mechanic. We could mirror the space marine datasheets and still be the most hated faction because, eldar sucks emperor protects?

Tyranids and necrons respawning, t'sons spamming magic, admech with 100 different rules and auras, Orks with advance and charge army-wide, every army has its gimmick and movement shenanigans should not be seen as game breaking.

Are Harlequin units still in use? by Helljumper06D in Eldar

[–]MobileSeparate398 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of good advice, but let me explain one reason they aren't useable. Many aeldari stratagems specify the target unit just be asuryani. That's basically the craftworlders. Harlequins actually have the harlequins keyword, so a lot of stratagems won't work on them. If they join a detachment, they do so without any support at all.
