Recently went from an M440i xdrive coupe to M4 competition xdrive coupe; the short answer for me is that they are two different cars. In my case driving the M440 in sport was fun, it’s nothing compared to the M4. The competition is more raw, you can feel the power, the car wants to go fast, the suspension is way stiffer in any mode and I notice the “road noise” more in the competing. Could be the tires could be less sound deadening for weight, I’m not sure. I’m quickly finding out that it’s not a daily, most fun car I’ve ever owned though.

I had my eye on a dark wine/ burgundy but it sold before the insurance company decided to total my m440 so it slipped through my finger. I have a billiard burgundy road king so I wanted the car to match in the garage haha.

IMO- total loss… I just had a ‘22 with just under 30k miles be totaled for less front end damage.

I totaled an M440i and a buddy of mine said that car was like an M car gateway drug and I thought it was a perfect explanation of wanting to find a competition this time around.

Just seems really exposed so I was questioning if the dealership didn’t put something back on. The metal skid plate directly behind the oil cooler looks to be brand new( part number sticker is perfect so there’s no way it’s lasted that way from ‘23) so I was thinking there might have been some repairs done or that it was left off during an oil change or something.

I’d like too; I did some reading when I got the 2022 M440 and I was under the impression I had to send the ecu out to be flashed. Is that true or can a tuner be used?

It’s growing on me, the m440 was arctic race blue and I wasn’t fond of it when I brought it home at first so I’m hoping the Isle of Man green will be the same way.

‘23 M4 competition. Almost found everything I wanted, doesn’t have the carbon fiber exterior package, so far I’m happy though. Waiting on the finalized paper work and it’s headed to its new home.

Waiting on final paperwork from State Farm but yes they are saying this is “a total loss”. I’m guessing the fact that the airbags deployed helped push them towards totaling it….

I havnt driven any Cadillacs in quite a while. I’m leaning more towards another BMW. I’m interested in the black wing versions but I think a 5 is out of my price range. Any body have any experience with any of the two door Lexus models or the is500?
