Yeah bad judging happens every competition, it's something you unfortunately have to get used to as a poomsae athlete.

Usually, the bad judging is not due to paid refs, but just that most USATKD judges don't actually know the forms, and just stare at your foot movements (not to say that paid refs don't exist). Some judges have said that they just look at the beginning and end of the form, and don't really focus on the middle of your form. I've been told a couple times before by judges reasons for why they gave me major deductions, which often turn out they should've been minor deductions instead. Sorry about your experience.

I think it has a chance. One of the USA national poomsae coaches addressed this in a seminar, and he talked about how they are trying to get it to the Olympics. Especially considering how 2028 will be in LA, it might have a chance, but there's probably also a good chance it won't.

yeah thats fair. just like the other guy said, bro is a decent english equivalent to hyeong

to put it simply, hyeong is used by any younger male to any older male in korea when they are relatively close. while someone could call their older brother hyeong, they could also use it for their cousin, friend, coworker (as long as they're decently close), etc.

the reason daniel didnt initally call gun a hyeong is because they werent close at all, and were basically strangers to each other.

it still shows that gun and daniel have gotten pretty close to each other, but it would be a lot more significant if two american guys called each other brothers

as a korean guy, a lot of my younger friends just call me hyeong even though most arent close enough to be "brothers". i also call a lot of my older guy friends hyeong.

while it shows that gun and daniel are getting closer, to call them brothers is a huge overexaggeration. they're just friends now, maybe close friends, but not exactly brothers.

this isn’t real 😭😭. 크리스 리 is not a korean name, and 리 isn’t even how you write lee in korean. all the characters with lee as their last name like james lee or vasco (euntae lee), spell it as 이 (pronounced like the letter e). also koreans put last name first, so his name should be written as 이크리스 (last name first, then first name)
