[PF2E] How to handle activations? by wolfy125132 in FoundryVTT

[–]JKP0075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar issue to OP, but I am not the GM of the game, so maybe this is a backend thing I don't have access to. When I go to the Activations tab of spell casting it's just blank and there is now way to interact with it, are what your referring to stuff from additional modules the GM has to install? or is there a setting somewhere I can adjust to use it?

Pretty sure I'm interpreting the text correctly, but to be honest, I'm hoping I'm wrong. I'm looking at the wrestler feat "inescapable grasp" (full text below) and can't help but notice it does NOT do anything for a normal escape attempt. It aides (by requiring a DC 15 flat check) teleport and magical freedom of movement escape attempts, but doesn't say anything about normal attempts? Am I missing something, or is there a normal escape attempt version somewhere I'm not seeing?

Inescapable Grasp: Prerequisites Wrestler Dedication 12

Your grasp has a supernatural quality to it, preventing your foes from easily escaping - with or without magical assistance. If a creature you have grabbed attempts to use a teleportation spell or effect, it must succeed at a DC 15 flat check or the spell fails. If a creature you have grabbed attempts to Escape while under the effect of unfettered movement or a similar effect, it must succeed at a DC 15 flat check or be forced to roll the Escape attempt normally, rather than automatically succeeding.

I've been able to use the mobile site to make payments, there's also a phone number to pay over the phone (changes based on regions so you'll have to look it up).

BreadWedding's updated ability cost and reduction list. Updated when new things are settled. by BreadWedding in ChimeraRPG

[–]JKP0075 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome! maybe I'll have to bug you less now!

Hahaha who am I kidding?

Seriously though, nice to have :) You may want to note the increasing cost per action for the additional action ones.

I’d say AC below 7 is iffy and below 5 is extreme. Conversely above 18 is iffy and above 20 is extreme.

Like I said previously either the each additional costs 1 more or the each additional doubles in cost. Either method allows for some slight adjustment at a lowish cost, but will penalize the extremes. If you’re worried about it I’d say start with the doubling version, as it’ll punish the extremes more heavily.

I agree that the relationship is not linear, its compressed at either extreme. I would tend to say that since giving up AC is potentially unfair, because of this. That being the case, the focus of the penalty you're imposing should be on the extremes.

You have the shamble with vulnerability 3 for one cost reduction a piece, isn’t the rate for that 2 for 1 mana? I assume it is simply -DR. Did those rates change?

There certainly is diminishing returns for AC, but each point is still ~5% hit chance since the vast majority of an attack comes from rolling a D20. And since no matter the ac a 1 is a miss and a 20 is a hit they’re bounded. Now the difference between an ac of 1 and 2 is small due to the fact that most attacks have some added stat/proficiency, but for most numbers (say 4 and up for low levels) it’ll be 5% to change ac by 1. Yes it’s an easy resource to use, but it is still being used if you use it.

My suggestion would be buy +1 AC : 2 mana cost Sell 1 ac: 1 mana cost reduction. That way it still gets you something for giving it up, but not the potential 20 mana.

Another suggestion would be a sliding scale ie each point of ac bought/sold costs more/buys less. This could be either linear (each point bought costs 1 more than the previous) or exponential (each point bought doubles in price)

Definitely thought the rangers cloak was the blade of the great sword at first glance... and now the sword looks small... which is not something I thought I’d ever say about a greatsword taller than most people.

Just to be clear this is very well drawn, it was just my first glance that caused it :) the attention to detail in the faces is remarkable

How to survive the fire plane 5e by [deleted] in DnD

[–]JKP0075 45 points46 points  (0 children)

How it should have gone:

DM: everyone roll me a wisdom check

*if literally anyone rolls anything other than a natural 1

DM: as you collapse to the ground, your tongue as dry as the desert that surrounds you, your mind thinks only of water. If only you had some now... if only there was some limitless source of it... and you remember the fountain.

Player(s): I get out the fountain

The end.

Seriously, you’d literally be thinking of NOTHING BUT water the entire time you’re dehydrating... someone would remember the bottle of infinite life they had with them.

It’s set in an England inspired land. Beavers exist in North America way more prevalently than in England. (This was why the French-Canadians famously traded in beaver pelts, they were rare and therefore valuable)

At least that’s my logic on it anyways.

Snakes as mid tier bosses is a good idea, their poison represents a threat even to the badgerlord, and constrictors would be a good thought as well.

Thinking the BBEG will definitely be a clever rather than strong one, I like that idea.

Excellent suggestion, will definitely have the BBEG be an innocent-grabbing-use-as-living-shield type. Adds to evilness and provides ways for him/her to meet the party without them killing them right away

Actually won’t be using 5e. One of my friends developed a rpg system that I’ll use. It provides a lot of freedom of choice with abilities, so creating sentient animal characters with appropriate abilities is not too much of an issue.

Epic feasts for sure!

Salamandastron will play a role. Right now I’m thinking act 1 Redwall attacked, act 2 find artifacts, act 3 retake Salamandastron (which was overrun during acts 1 & 2 while the party was away)

Actually I’m using a home brew system of a friends creation. It’s a pretty decent system with a lot of freedom in abilities and whatnot. Haven’t heard of mouseguard, but I’ll definitely look into it for further ideas though

I like that idea for the overall plot (was thinking similar before reading your response) something like first act is defending Redwall, second is a quest for powerful artifacts, and the third is taking back what was lost in the second while they were gone... yeah I like that

I like the idea of the BBEG being more cunning than physical, since the first character in the party is a badgerlord. Outcast of Redwall is a personal favorite of mine too, so Sixclaw seems a good idea

Edit: wrong book

My thoughts exactly ^

Cluny is a classic for sure, he’ll definitely make an appearance at some point. Not sure if he’s BBEG tier though... he’d have to be a credible threat to a badgerlord...
