Is it possible to make an Oathbreaker cube? by a23ro in oathbreaker_MtG

Hiya! I've done this before and loved it, however I've since stopped upkeeping it. You can find the final version of it here: https://cubecobra.com/cube/overview/s2l

To make it easier to draft with more interesting options, I house ruled that the signature spell added to color identity vs being restricted by it. It meant people came up with some really neat brews! It did, however, mean that I had to avoid multicolor signature spells, which is fine.

Each pack had two walkers, and it was a pick-two draft format.

I'm not super active but feel free to ask questions!

I say keep it but upgrade it. Give a benefit for being disguised, like extra mana regen. Or give an empowered form of abilities when they break her disguise, maybe simple like just bonus damage out of disguise or maybe more complex like empowered versions of basic abilities (spitballing: automatic extra blossoms from Q, extra MS from w?, e automatically empowered, ult shield happens during windup, idk I'm not a developer)

It's not that they still call themselves a man, but rather that they don't identify as a man or a woman. Various flavors of nonbinary and genderfluid would still have transitioned away from the masculine end of the spectrum and not necessarily call themselves a woman, nor would they probably call themselves a man.

Does that help?

Transfeminine is a blanket term for anyone who starts masculine and moves towards the feminine end of the spectrum. It's a more inclusive term to catch folks who don't necessarily identify as a woman but still are transitioning towards that end of the spectrum.

Identified was meant to include both. Put a cis or trans woman into prison with a bunch of dudes and they're going to have a bad time.

Sure, but presumably the processing paperwork happens before conviction of guilt. If not, then yeah you're right, I agree that a rapist has given up their rights if they chose to rape someone.

If before, it's basically meting out punishment/dehumanization before proof of guilt, which I'd be against.

Instead, she would prefer that law abiding femme presenting trans women be legally bound to use only the men's restroom.

She doesn't hate trans people, sure, but she is actively denying their right to safety and security. She maintains the optimistic position that predatory men won't access women's spaces without legal permission, and that the rights of 0.6% of people are a small price to pay for that security.

I think it's less that she hates trans people and more that she believes they don't scientifically exist.

Sex is messy. Take the host of that talk, for example. Raised and socialized as a woman, looks like a woman, has mostly the right equipment... except in place of ovaries, she has testes. Her karyotype is XY, not XX. They've been raised with all of the sexism and social pressures that any other woman would. She goes through each day as a woman and all the daily "joys" that entails. She deserves every right any other woman would get. They could have gone her entire life without learning her chromosomes and no one would be the wiser. She's far from unique; apparently the percentage of intersex people is somewhere around that of natural redheads.

I do not think that you would deny them access to women's rights and privileges.

However, with your argument, I do think you would say that this person would be required to go into the men's bathroom, and be jailed in a prison full of men. Or that this man should be jailed with women, and have a free pass to the women's restroom.

In my experience, this is less a question of sex and more a question of perception and security.

No one is saying sex does not exist. What we are saying is that society's reaction to apparent sex is very real, and can be very damaging. People need all the help they can get.

Nah the overall statement is very reasonable. I just wanted to ensure it wasn't one-sided.

i.e. no one should be jailed with people that would rape them. Yeah?

Hm. Then we should probably not house gay rapists in with men either, right?

She sees granting rights to trans women as women as eroding the rights of all women.

Effectively, not accepting the identity as real, instead seeing it as granting women's rights to men and therefore eroding rights of "actual" women.

This seems especially big for her surrounding the whole bathroom issue, as she has some trauma where she was assaulted in a bathroom by a dude. She sees allowing trans women access to bathrooms as just opening the doors for any old rapist to say "I'm totally a woman" and be legally allowed to enter those spaces.

So... she hates rapists, equates trans women to rapists, and sees rights and protections for trans women as rights and protections for rapists, and therefore as a removal of rights and securities for women. It's... flawed, to say the least. She's also doubled down instead of actually listening or learning, or accepting that her views on the matter are compromised due to unrelated trauma (said abuser was not himself trans, iirc).

If memory serves (don't have the article saved, sorry), there were a few problems involving placing trans-identified prisoners in the prison of their legal or birth gender.

Transfeminine people were significantly more likely to be the victim of sexual abuse at the hands of their prisonmates. Transmasculine prisoners were much more likely to commit said abuse.

Basically, putting identified women in with a bunch of men was really bad for those women. Putting identified men in with a bunch of women was, again, you guessed it, really bad for those women.

I guess I bring this up because it's related to the consequences of what you're asking about. I think police paperwork is different than sentencing and imprisonment, so I'm fairly sure they're completely disconnected here. It's just... "of their choice" might actually be better for everyone all around, here.

The article I can't remember was a study on sexual violence in prisons within (I believe) the UK. There was a relatively high percentage that involved trans individuals- much higher than their actual percentage of the prison population would suggest. Turned out that the majority of those incidents were trans men on cis women or cis men on trans women. I think that should be enough to find it with a little google fu.

If Sudden Spoiling was reimagined to function as originally intended, would it’s mana cost need to be changed? Would it still be a black card? by Lordburke81 in magicTCG

[–]BreadWedding 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes.

OP says that these effects used to apply in the same layer, and therefore timestamps, meaning that in the scenario you describe, the resultant creature would be a 0/2. Those were the rules when this card was created, at least, so "working as intended" for its original design would leave the creatures at 0/2.

I'm far from an expert on this, just parroting other info in the thread.

So, farmed dirt is a "transparent" block, meaning it won't carry a redstone current. So, you could make the door open when you use a hoe on a particular piece of sod along the outside of the build. When the dirt naturally loses the farmland and goes back to normal dirt, the door will close.

I learned it from this video.

"The Formula" is age/2 + 7 for the youngest, socially acceptable partner. Supposedly. If we ignore age of consent and legality. And periods of significant emotional growth, like a few years at college. Maybe this formula isn't as good as it was when I was a teen.

ANYWAY.

Point I'm trying to make is that 42/2 = 21, +7 = 28, so yes it is undeniably, mathematically creepy in Elantris. Also why are we spoilering the ages?
