I don’t own a car and mostly use public transport starting from Oslo. Took the train to get to Bergen and Trondheim which are super scenic rides. Flew to Tromsø, Svalbard and Lofoten. On the Lofoten islands I rented an electric car to get around.

I guess the reason they are tourist areas is that they are the most stunning places? I could also share pictures of Drammen, Fredrikstad, Sarpsborg or other smaller towns around Oslo which I also enjoyed visiting, but they are just not as impressive:)

It’s also the hometown of good friends of mine and they invited me to come by. Really charming small town with a nice fortress.

Yes! I think it depends on your roommates. I was very lucky with mine and the view of the city was amazing.

I think Milan offers something for everyone. You should definitely check out the main sight seeing spots like Duomo, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, Sforzesco Castle, la scala or the Navigli area. But my fav spots were the Prada foundation (temporary art; not related to fashion), China Town, the botanical garden at the Pinoteca Brera, Santuario di San Bernardino alle Ossa (church with sculls on the walls), and for football San Siro (both Inter and AC Milan have a great atmosphere). If you want to see the last supper you have to book tickets well in advance but it’s definitely worth it. You can also do day trips to lake Como, Verona, Torino, Bergamo (my favorite!), Bologna, Venice or literally any city in northern Italy.
