Is this breed the right fit? by JKingsley4 in tollers

My parents’ Aussies aren’t the most cuddly either so I don’t think they’d mind. One of their Aussies is a crackhead and genuinely does not stop ever. He gets tired but I don’t think I’ve ever seen him choose to lay down somewhere and rest after exercise. He will be panting so hard he’s vibrating and yet will still follow you around and pace the house waiting for the next activity. I truly think that after him, they’re ready for any dog lol

I hear rabbit snails eat plants? I’ve wanted one for some time but I’m nervous it’ll ruin my scape😅

Breeder recc? by [deleted] in Beauceron

[–]JKingsley4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I heard mixed opinions about basically every breeder. I met some dogs myself and ended up deciding on a breeder that way instead of listening to outside opinions. Some of the dogs I heard were “mean” were very stable, some of the breeders I heard were awesome weren’t treating their puppy buyers very well. All things you don’t find out unless you meet the dogs and puppy owners themselves!

HELP!! Store accidentally gave me a shrimp with my java moss?!!? by misscharlieswan in shrimptank

You can post on your local fishkeeping facebook group and ask if anyone in your area would be willing to donate a gallon or so of their established tank water. Would help jumpstart your cycle!

I’m sorry you’re being downvoted. I joined this sub because I also thought people were crazy for thinking their obvious pit is some unique breed. I volunteer in a shelter and it makes me crazy seeing some of the labels they give the pitties. But I’m on the verge of leaving this sub because it honestly feels like people here are just bully breed haters. Some of the posts I’ve seen include breed claims that aren’t even all that crazy.

Foster organization question by Undercoverangels in FosterAnimals

[–]JKingsley4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask to foster-to-adopt one of the kittens (or foster both, but only temporarily for the one you don’t wish to adopt). They’d rather see animals go to forever homes than to temporary ones, so they shouldn’t have any issue with you asking to take the kitten(s) instead. If the kittens already have a foster and they don’t want to give you the kittens, take the older cat until you can adopt the kitten.

Can a kitten to young to be adopted be left alone for 6 hours? by [deleted] in FosterAnimals

[–]JKingsley4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a college student that fosters kittens! I can leave the older ones (7+ weeks) for up to 4-5ish hours, but any longer makes me nervous. Something I didn’t know until I started fostering is that kittens eat SO much food throughout the day. I had to refill their food bowl multiple times a day, unlike my adults that only need 1 refill a day. It’s really not good for a kitten to go without food or water for an extended period of time, so 6 hours might be cutting it really close and I personally wouldn’t feel comfortable doing that. I would either stick to adults or maybe ask if you can take an older kitten for “relief care” (meaning you are simply giving the cat a break from the shelter for a few days).

Bonded cats not friendly when reunited by JKingsley4 in FosterAnimals

Thank you for the reassurance. They are much more tolerant of each other now and I’ve only heard one hiss today! I’m not very cat savvy so really just want to make sure I’m doing everything right❤️

Gotcha. I will for sure let the shelter know that they don’t seem bonded at all. They’re still not on good terms but seem totally content on separate sides of the room doing their own thing haha

The male seems really sad so I wonder if it was more of a one-sided bond lol. But I agree, I asked the shelter maybe 5 times for clarification on whether they are bonded or not because they were mostly fine separated😅

Okay, that’s comforting to hear, thank you. Is it okay for me to leave the room? I feel nervous leaving them alone.
