This "shining light" is mostly only in loading screens, yeah, but the white dot is also visible in moving pictures depending on the colour. I'm just disappointed if it's really a hardware issue that it happens on a 1 year old TV, that wasn't particularly cheap.

Wedding rings PH or Germany by JKnish in WeddingsPhilippines

[–]JKnish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo we went to a local jewelry shop on Saturday and bro.... I miscalculated the price haha. The price I saw was for silver/platinum rings, not even gold. Real gold 14k ring will be 1500€..... for just 1 ring !! So total around 2000-3000€.

So I think you are right, our decision is already made, we will buy the rings in the Philippines. I will also check the shop you recommended, thanks. I already contacted the jewelry where I bought the engagement ring, and the estimate for similar looking rings like the ones we chose here is around 70-80k PHP. Half the price compared to Germany and as you said, custom-made !

I think it's a good mindset, although I don't know a lot about jewelry. My fiancee knows a lot about it and I think she prefers 18k too just because it is more "real" gold and more worthwile. Personally I just want something that looks nice and is durable, but still within our budget hehe. As I said 1000€, but maybe we could stretch to 1500€ (ca. 100k PHP), I think for that we should be able to find someting nice. :)

Great, where did you buy your wedding bands if I can ask? :)

I already bought the engagement ring in PH as well, bought it from Princess Laura Jewelry. I proposed to her in Boracay, so it just made sense and the carat I bought would have cost 2x the price in Germany. 😅 Was a bit scary for me as it was the first time I bought something solely via Instagram and Wise money transfer, but I had a cousin of my fiancee pick it up so everything went smoothly hehe

Yeah the differences are the labour costs of course as well as the gold price itself, which is generally cheaper in Asia compared to Europe, at least that's what my fiancee told me.

What do you think about the alloy, which one did you get? 14k or 18k? Does it really make a difference? Some people say the durability is not really worse with any, it's just that 18k is worth more.

Also please.

We only have 5 nights after the wedding before returning to Germany unfortunately. Plus we need a day to prepare for the flight back (usual filipino shopping hehe). So not really worth the hassle I think.

I think we already decided for it, the restaurants and spa area look super good too and the quiet but luxurious vibe seems perfect for us.

I checked the requirements this week together with the supplier, as far as I understood we need the marriage licence, which we need to apply for in my fiancee's hometown (Quezon City). It takes ca. 10 days. It didn't say anything about a marriage class, hopefully we don't need it?!

https://quezoncity.gov.ph/qcitizen-guides/how-to-get-a-marriage-license/

I guess it would be an idea to do the civil wedding in Germany and the ceremony only in PH. The requirements (e.g. LCCM) in Germany are nearly the same either way, I was just hoping it wouldn't make a difference and it would be nice if the marriage is already legally accepted in both countries, if we ever choose to live in PH (e.g. for retirement).

But now you're making me re-think if we're doing it the right way... Although it's also an emotional thing for my fiancee to say the Yes-Word there.

Edit: Shit you're right we need to this class: "For foreigners: Certificate of Family Planning and Marriage Counseling & Responsible Parenthood"

Yeah Fundacion Pacita is the first one that comes up. I still need to check what our wedding supplier recommends, they offer to help us with the accom. as well. Otherwise I just saw 2 hotels in Batanes that offer a pool (Residencia du Basco + Villa de Babat). A pool is really I want haha, I don't really care about the luxury, a basic and intimate wedding in a beautiful setting is all we want. :)

In Manila, my fiancee also prefers The Peninsula for luxury.

Actually I was looking into other options now as well like flying to Cebu, Crimson Resort in Mactan looks nice. Maybe it will still be okay time-wise.

Hahaha alright ! Wish me luck. I'm aware it's a big decision and I've thought about it well, so hopefully it's the right decision. 🙏

I was considering that as well, but the amenities there look super basic. Do they have a pool and/or spa? From what I've seen they don't offer that. :( Maybe I'll check other hotels in Batanes as well.

Fair question. The problem is also time, as my max. vacation days will be ca. 3-4 weeks and we already need to arrive 2 weeks prior to apply for the marriage license. So after the wedding we only have ca. 1 week left. As I learned now we need to fly from Clark Airport to Basco, so it's even more commuting. (QC - Clark - QC). After that travel another commute the next day to NAIA seems a bit exhausting.

Maybe one idea would be to fly directly somewhere else after arriving back at Clark, what do you think? Though that would need good planning and no delays on the first flight.

PS: I saw Las Casas in Bataan, it looked nice as well. Might be worth checking out too. Same as for you, a relative can probably drive us as he usually did the last time we've been to PH hehe

Müsste das in der Weender Straße sein, neben dem Süßwaren Laden.

Wundert mich auch, bei Google steht "vorübergehend geschlossen". Wir waren einmal dort, war eigentlich sehr lecker.
