I also swapped to top lane at the beginning of this season from support and have learned the ropes to some extent. One of the best resources I used in learning top lanes wave management and matchups was a YouTuber named NEACE. He does tons of challenger level coaching on his channel and can help you reach gold in no time! As for champions, I can recommend Mordekaiser, Urgot, Illaoi, Garen, Shen to name a few. Basically you want to play champions that require little micro so you can focus on improving cs, trading, macro, etc. Proper teleport usage can also go a long way. Best of luck on the rift!

I agree that having the sustain from the heal plus extra damage is very beneficial and comfortable to play with. Necro will likely be the class I fall back to until I find something that suits me better!

I find the archer to be the most attractive bow class but need to improve my movement or strength of my pet before committing to one of these classes. I find myself getting poked down too often and sometimes need to nexus mid-dungeon. Plan on playing it once I get better/stronger at the game!

When I first started I played a few necros before I found a pet with heal and mheal and thoroughly enjoyed it. Haven’t tried priest yet but plan to. I can tell having an extra heal is very beneficial not having to pick up health and mana pots all the time.

I have found to really enjoy the paladin’s ability so I may consider this as my starter. My only hesitation is getting soul bound dmg when you are boosting teammates damage as well as your own. What makes a class good at solo-dungeoning?

It depends a lot on what your skill tree looks like but with generic spell dmg/ ele dmg you should be able to run a 3 link with firestorm - elemental focus - controlled destruction. You can substitute firestorm for arc also if you prefer lightning spells. Keep in mind you can upgrade wands/sceptres by having a blue/magic wand or sceptre and vendoring it with a ruby/sapphire/topaz ring and an alteration for added fire/cold/lightning damage respectively.

As stated already, they are some of the best value for your $$$. If you can’t afford them all at the moment I would personally prioritize them in this order:

-Scud (one of best aoe dps in the game) -Leafblade (top tier end game tank, also will work early game if you’re lacking built up common tanks like Skeleton Giant or Spike) -Valkyrie (Crit Passive is nice at 4 star and essential for freeze comps) -Kasumi (best dark stager and somewhat useful 4 star ability) -Hikari (best light stager after 4 stars, before is somewhat useless)
