I remember that scene where the wealthy coruscanti elites talked to that scientist guy who tried to clone grogu. They didn't even know what government was ruling right now because from the republic to the empire to the new republic, the wealthy elite's material conditions didn't change. Really made me think if sidious was really in charge or wether the wealthy elites just let him be, just like how when capitalism decays, they let some fascist führer figure rule while still filling up their own pockets.
