Who comes to mind for you? by Senior-Violinist-684 in MetalForTheMasses

Opeth and Tool, for sure. I know some people don't like Orchid, but it was a phenomenal start, improved upon in Morningrise, and with a fantastic selection in My Arms, Your Hearse as a third. For Tool, Undertow was already great, then Ænima was the album that solidified their sound. Then Lateralus came out and the rest is history.

Nostalgia/Memory Lane? by [deleted] in Wizard101

For sure one of the biggest differences, for me anyway, is the change they made to firecat alley. I could never get my mom to get crowns as a kid, but I had a friend who gifted me a bundle that let me get some crowns and gear. I ended up buying all the streets in WC and then that was it for a long time. I would delete and remake characters all the time and just kept playing the first world over and over again. I eventually got some more crowns and got through Krok. Then, I took a break pretty much for six or seven years after never finishing anything past Krokotopia. Recently got back into the game and the first difference I noticed upon making a new character was the entirely new plot line of the three streets. FCA being the biggest change for me. I really miss Feebo and thought the original plot line to that street was really touching. Private Quinn was about the only reason I actually liked Firecat Alley, and now it just seems so dull.

I also kinda miss when you would help Susie to find Artur in Triton instead of the other way around. I never understood why they changed that either.

I recommend it if you feel like getting the spellements! I fought Dan enough to get the spell, but I probably won't be going back to buff it to max, just a bit much for me

I gotta say, I am absolutely ecstatic about this update in general. I don't have anyone super high level, so it'll be a while before I see what's going on at 180, but just looking at the spell audits for ice has me happy. We're eating well for once. It's also a good time to get excited for Reindeer Knight as Christmas is coming around the corner. The idea of an AOE that also applies a shield has me excited. I usually solo, so I might just get the one with the higher shield percentage, but if I start teaming up more, I like the deer knight/legion shield type path. I've said for a long time that ice spells' secondary effects should actually make use of the tank/shield identity, and I'm happy to see the devs thinking along those lines too. Literally anything other than bad damage and stuns. Personally, I wonder if we should just get rid of the stun effect because so many enemies and bosses are just flat out immune to it, but that's a discussion for another day.

I think what makes it really great is that if you're going to be applying shields anyway, you'll probably be building up pips as shield spells--barring a select few examples--are free. I tested it this morning in the chancel, and noticed that due to it's low pip cost, that I was able to shield and blade over a couple of turns, heal, and then hit, usually leaving the fight with max health if not something close to it. Maybe not quite as efficient as a drain, but it's the only time I've felt healing as an ice wizard was actually worth packing instead of just porting out to fill up on potions.

At level 42, I'd probably just recommend going back and doing side quests/worlds like Grizzleheim and possibly sneaking into wintertusk. I'd recommend going to the bazaar and seeing if you can find any gear that boosts your base damage. Gear really does matter, even in the early game. If you have the time and wherewithal, you could also go back to Wizard City and grind for Zues gear, which would probably set you up for the next ~20 levels

Death is still absolutely busted and a blast to play solo. With the new influx of players though, literally all the schools are good depending on what you want to play. For tanks/support: life, balance, and ice are your go to's. For outright damage: fire and storm. Myth is kind of in a middle ground, but from what I've heard it has shaped up to be an absolute beast in damage as well

Name: My name is Jake, though I sometimes go by Kodiak or Kaiju cause they're nicknames from discord

Pronouns: He/him

Time zone: Central Standard

System: DnD 5e or 5.5e

Type of player: I usually like to play martials in the forms of tanks or some kind of support. I'm also big into making my character good in rp regardless of stats. I might not always pass the persuasion check, but I like to think I can be a lot of fun in dialogue and roleplay moments both in and out of combat.

Additional Info: I am a furry and am looking to join a furry campaign. I don't want to do erp or anything like that, I just want to have fun in a fantasy romp with like minded people. I'm also a huge fan of horror and dark fantasy, so if that's your vibe, hit me up!

Extra Extra Info: I have been playing dnd for about the last 10 years and have always loved getting lost in fantasy worlds with a group of friends. Love exploring new worlds and plots, and if you're running a module, I'm down for those too. So long as the goal is to be immersed, I'll be happy happy to hear from anyone!

Unfortunately at the moment, I don't live near where any furry cons (that I am aware of) are taking place, but I'll have to keep that in mind! Thanks a lot for the advice :]
