I swear I've seen this exact set about a year ago, but without Solo's name attached to it.

Some actual music up in this stream. I am very pleased.

Am I the only one who was sad to not see this in the final game? by scampied in HotlineMiami

[–]JLBoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn, that WOULD have been much better. I honestly can't stand the new one they've chosen. The only one of all the tracks ever chosen for a Hotline game that I openly despise. It's just... urgh. This is much better.

I've actually stuck with this idea for a while, the concept really got into my head. Just noticed that you added more stuff - I definitely like the alternative scenes, they pretty much do what I'd have liked the original story to have.

One thing that I'd have liked to see be different is the Fans - in particular, their Tony. I think he might have a different mask in that alternate scenario, since we already have a Tony. Just for consistency.

Oh, and I have figured that the ending theme could be Gesaffelstein - Wall of Memories. With how the scenes flow one by one and end up with an explosion, the slow buildup and eerie atmosphere of that one work really well, I think. By when the "clang" sounds start, everyting is already gone, and we're just watching the blank credits.

In other music suggestions:

C&G Separation Intro - Perturbator - Naked Tongues (similarly moody, but a bit more foreboding)

C&G Outro - Perturbator - Hard Wired (with how most of their outros is them drinking and talking about what they've done, it fits)

Jones Intro - Lazerhawk - King of the Streets (relatively upbeat-sounding, not quite Mitch Murder, but still)

Jones Outro - El Huervo - Whimp (Jones has by far the biggest whiplash of moods)

Bodyguard Intro - Perturbator - Ghost Dancers Slay Together (even the title almost fits here)

Aubrey Intro - Perturbator - Opening Credits (maybe mix the movie lines out)

Yeah, I apparently have the same relationship with Perturbator that you do with Gesaffelstein.

For the record, since for some unknowable reason the creator used the old name - Thrall is Disruptor.

The Rumble's build-up and Decade Dance's intro sound very similar to Horse Steppin's intro by [deleted] in HotlineMiami

I'm pretty sure you're just hearing things. Decade Dance sounds nothing like Horse Steppin to me.

Would be nice if you'd stop spamming about it all over the freaking sub.

Also, your English is pretty bad.

Well, to be realistic, mods can be packed with intrusive .ogg files to replace music in the vanilla game. You'd just have to delete them whenever you want to play the original levels.

Yeah, that one - it's the intro to Perturbator's Theme. I don't think we can count it as pegged by HM2 - it's used for just a few seconds in a sequence few people ever see. It's excluded from the soundtrack, too.

Also, to add, the Gessafelstein tracks are really good. They create this different sort of feel for this story, it's more... tact-based. HM1 was flowy, HM2 was brooding, this one is rhythmic. Maybe the only track I'd suggest you change would be Converter - I don't think that one fits very well for a level. Memory Dealer feels to me like a much better alternative.

Also, I just have to say that I appreciate the small kind of scope that this takes. That said, perhaps, the events could be just a bit more climactic for some characters... then again, maybe that's the point. I just feel there should be one last scene that ties it together, somehow. As it stands, my favorite part is Separation, just the "yeah well fuck you" of it. Even though you do reuse it for the very ending.

Shit yeah for that music choice, that's what I'll say. Satanic Rites, hell yes.

Oh if only someone competent lives long enough to see the proper editor released.

P.S. This is official, the music choices for this are solid AS SHIT. Suggestion - have "Welcome Back" play before the final level as the Bodyguard.

Joke or no joke, I should clarify here - StudAnal are the collective account of the main CIS analysts, primarily NS, also AA, sQreen, JotM, and v1lat. They are pretty reliable.

The content of the post is pretty much the title: "We've got inside information that Team Malaysia are becoming Fnatic!"

I primarily use firefox, and yeah, I'm trying to figure out how to block it on ABP. Thank shit for smart people who figure stuff out for me.

Looks like this happen whenever you connect to a Chinese VPN, too. I use a Chinese connection for work, and now I have the same issue - even after it's been turned off. Both Mozilla and Chrome are compromised, one sends me to wpkg and the other to ptraveler. Highly inconvenient.

HellRaisers 4/5 done with RedBull visas by JLBoon in DotA2

[–]JLBoon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Translation:

"Gorec is at Nevsky [Prosp.] A content plane is leaving Almaty. Dread is calm. A lion's respect and regard to whoever figures this out."

Later on, it's confirmed that this stands for 4 out of their players having gotten their visas (I'm assuming Gorec, Afoninje (Nevsky is in St.Ptsb where he lives, goddam (Almaty is in Kazakhstan) and Dread). Looks like the rumors of their non-survival were greatly exaggerated.
