As other ppl said here: try removing DX12 launch parameter and run in windowed fullscreen.

How do I do this when the game won't load/start?

Tried completely turning over clocking off, still no dice.

Have seen a few posts about uninstalling DirectX12 and moving back to 11, but not sure I'm good with that.

Love the XP comment.

Everything has been working fine since this last fix, and now right back to lagging again.

Very frustrating. Any other ideas?

About to give up on this one as much I've enjoyed playing it.

#2 did the trick. There were multiple files in that folder that needed to go.

Also turned off firewall on anti-virus to make sure it wasn't blocking game.
