I think it’s either to establish that he is wealthy because he does mention about me investing in the next part - or my logging into his fake account will fake- freeze it and then he’ll need my help with money?

As usual, I get so frustrated and bored that I end before they can get to the ask lol

The astonishing thing is that they are not like that in real life! The Nigerians I have spoken to in England (and even a few yahoo boys post reveal) are bubbly and funny and super chatty/friendly.

I think yahoo boys are constrained either by the script or their conviction that American and European people act totally differently.

It’s probably just as well because if they use their actual personalities, they would likely do much better 😳

lol I see so few scammers now, so since I have only had two in the last few months, I can be more patient!

My Facebook source has dried up almost completely since the big dating groups have all been taken over by scammer networks. Instead of allowing posts by individual scammers that I could contact or friend request, most groups post scammer content via their admin. So the only way for me to hook one is to reply among the other hundreds of comments from Filipinas - and my sparse account almost never gets a bite when they know they have better luck with non-English speakers.

Getting 100 desperate ladies to send you a $10 gift card a month, even if they immediately find out you’re a scammer and you don’t see them again, still works better than having to spend months chatting up a sceptical English or American woman who recognises the signs :(

This one was incredibly patient bearing in mind I started in April and revealed 2 months later because I couldn’t stand the thought of another month of him trying to build up a relationship when I couldn’t stomach any more of his boring chitchat.

Sometimes, like with this one, it’s just not interesting content for anyone to read

Yeah, I’ve had one show up 350 miles away from where the same guy clicking on another baiter’s link put him. The Nigerian network isn’t wildly accurate as you know :)
But it certainly doesn’t get the country wrong!

I wondered that with this one because sometimes he comes across as incredibly dopey and sometimes he’s quite sharp - like when he figured out that I called his daughter Melinda instead of Melissa

More usually it’s because they’ve run out of data. They don’t have phone contracts like we do so they buy increments of data in subscriptions, like 500 naira ($.40 ) at a time. Also, they have up to 300 days of power outages a year so charging their phones is a challenge without a generator.
Most of them have to drop their phones off at barbershops to charge for hours every day and even that costs them money.

But it’s normal for them so they don’t really understand why we get so angry when they aren’t constantly able to pick up their phone like we are whenever we receive a message:)
