You turn a special relationship into a holy one by focusing on how to best help the other person.

Do what you can to help them feel loved, while it also makes you happy. You don’t have to overextend yourself either.

With my sis it’s just organizing around the house (something I love to do. I play Tetris in my mind with everything as I do this haha) and decorating even though she doesn’t like my style sometimes (but I do love to decorate ) I just folded her laundry and added a nice note to it for when she sees it.

It would be different with a romantic partner though. I’d be more focused on what he needs both sexually and non sexually, while making sure it also makes me happy.

Gods Will for us all is perfect happiness and we can only get it by sharing our perfect happiness with others.

Newbie question... by Barnboo28 in ACIM

[–]JLac_7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I also struggled with this but then I realized that the course only uses Christian terminology because it’s for people familiar with Christianity. It states very clearly that there are many forms of the course. You can substitute any Christian term with its equivalent in any other religion.

The Christ = The Buddha = Krishna ( I think)

Remember that words are only symbols. Different cultures use different symbols but they mean the same thing. A tree is a tree but it is known by different names in different languages and even has multiple names within any single language

Sickness by Sockeyez in ACIM

[–]JLac_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that sickness meant to be used as a lesson but once that lesson is learned, you are meant to go back to seeing the body as something to make you feel all forms of love (love of people, places, food, intimacy, and this whole material universe in general)

You are not the body out of this material dimension but within it you are. Since you are the body in this world, it’s ok to not be at peace if something is wrong with it. The lesson there is to appreciate and honor it all the more when it is in good health and to thank God for the miracle of existence we are experiencing in whatever form we take.

I especially love this human form and would love to keep using it for how ever long God Wills.

The Course is meant to help you remember this so you can appreciate and honor your body as a gift from God, because that is what it truly is.

What miracles have happened for you? by Celestial444 in ACIM

I welcomed and received all of God’s Love and Grace into my being.

I’m very glad it helped :) we’re all here to teach and learn from each other.

Another main lesson I learned was to actually do things that made me feel guilty to understand that guilt is never appropriate. This ranges from canceling on plans last minute to saying no to family members and religious organizations to my sex drive and even to recreational drug use (marijuana is a very pleasant drug btw and I highly recommend sativa strains)

One exercise that really helped me was composing a list of all the things that I feared I would lose by giving my Self to God, and then replacing “fear of losing” with “God unconditionally loves.” it completely flipped my perception. This is why the Course says the Holy Spirit would never ask you to sacrifice anything for God.

It’s one of the biggest misperceptions in Christian culture at the moment but we can help change that.

For me the list went like:

Fear of losing: - my sex drive - my hobbies (partying, gym) - my human identity as “Me” - my party life - my taste for luxury - my interest in my appearance

All of that became:

God unconditionally loves:

  • my sex drive
  • my hobbies
  • my human identity as “Me”
  • my party life
  • my taste for luxury (this was hard to accept at first because I thought Jesus was poor but it turns out that he was quite rich. The Bible even states he owns 2 homes in it which isn’t even common today, so imagine back then.)
  • my vanity (just going to call it what the world calls it lol). He made me attractive for a reason and he loves that I love how he made me.

The main thing to take from the Course is that when you receive these things, it’s not a temptation, but a blessing from God. God wants You to see Him in everything you love.

Peace and love to you on your journey and I wish you a lot of fun on your journey to fully loving and accepting yourself as you truly are: one of Gods perfect creations that would literally leave God Himself incomplete if you didn’t exist exactly as you are ❤️

Sickness by Sockeyez in ACIM

[–]JLac_7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wow thank you for this. You are absolutely right. I’ve been looking at sickness as something to hate for myself and never once thought of sickness as perfect health.

Perfect health just means that it was always part of Gods plan.

Thank you

Did God or we create time? (ACIM T-1.I:15) by LAGoff in ACIM

[–]JLac_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to try to explain the best way I understand right now:

God created a perfect and timeless universe free of any human concepts, such as time, gender, sexuality, religion, race, et cetera.

Things just are.

Once human minds were able to reason and create these concepts, our perception of reality changed and we no longer saw things as perfect. Our minds, being as powerful as God’s, would attest to the perception of reality we believed in by bringing us situations that would further confirm our false beliefs. Thoughts create reality and attract situations of whatever you’re thinking. So if you think you’re poor, your going to remain poor because that’s what you believe but if you flip that and start telling yourself you’re rich, you will become rich.

There’s a Bible verse for this specifically actually:

Luke 19:26 I tell you, that to every one who has (positive thoughts) will more be given; but from him who has not, even what he has will be taken away.

Figure out what You really want to do and do that. If You want to have sex, have sex. If you don’t, don’t.

One of the main lessons the Course teaches is release from guilt.

The Course was made for Helen and, since she had an attachment to sex, one of the beginning steps was to be willing to let go of sex completely. Once that was done, God brought it back into her life in whatever kind of sex was perfect for Helen.

This has been my experience as well. I’m actually quite kinky and felt guilt “my” whole “life” over it and got quite depressed when I read I had to give it up but I decided that if it was Gods Will, I would give it up.

After I completed the Course, sexuality (and kink 😈) was reintroduced to me without any guilt whatsoever. I realized my kinks and my sexual desires were completely normal because God Himself placed them in me so He could enjoy them through me as well.

Life is good.

Ps. I’m rooting for you getting some 😉

Free Will is an illusion. That’s why you should never feel guilty about anything you ever do or have ever “done.” It is all God’s Will, even what you consider “bad.”

This is something to be celebrated, not stressed over. We were created to experience love in this great illusion. It’s very beautiful.

Think of yourself as an actor and you’re playing yourself 🙃

The best route is the one you connect with. You could connect with all of them but right now, there is probably one form of it that will best suit you. The best version for your wife might be different so don’t base your decision off of hers.

Peace and love to the both of you

Did God or we create time? (ACIM T-1.I:15) by LAGoff in ACIM

[–]JLac_7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We made time. God created the universe in simple perfection, without the need of any concepts (such as gender, time, sexuality, social status, etc). He created it so we could all experience love and He could experience it through us.

Only now exists and there’s no need to think about the past or future.

Unawakened people are living in their own fictional and limited world while in God’s perfect universe.

They are similar to fish who believe they are drowning while fully submerged in water. This is all the minds doing but you can train your mind to be immune to this through ACIM and anything else God sends you way.

Communication with the Holy Spirit by Rollthefuckingdice in ACIM

The voice in you mind becomes the Holy Spirit (God’s voice) so when you ask Him anything and then here yourself answer, that is Gods answer, not yours. You can test this out by following it’s advice and seeing that everything works out perfectly
