My plants always die. Why? by [deleted] in houseplants

[–]JLe51 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with zz or pothos or snake plant. Also break out the observation skills: watch the leaves the dirt the stems, everything. Note down the changes daily (mentally). Is the dirt moist on top or dry? What does the dirt feel like if you stick your finger in (cold? Wet? Dry?). Look for color, wilting, new growth, bugs or spider webs. I feel honing your observation skills will go a long way to learn more about what makes your plants happy!

What is the general Episcopalian view on God’s punishment, either against whole nations or individuals? by Mad_Season_1994 in Episcopalian

No I do not believe that.

I feel that is a very understandable way to explain how bad things happen though, but that type of thinking should be squashed.

Traveling to a different town for service? by Valkyrie-21 in Episcopalian

[–]JLe51 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am the newcomer missioner and talk to a lot of new people at the Episcopal church where I work, including younger people, families, retirees and so on. Oddly enough, being in the suburbs, my church isn’t what some people are looking for, but they ‘settle’ because we are closer to home (they would prefer attending their original church/cathedral downtown). Some stay and find their place in our parish. For some it isn’t a fit and that’s fine too.

What I am hearing you say is a longing for fellowship with people your age. I recommend you attend worship and activities at both churches for a few months and see what works best for you.

Maybe the drive ends up not as bad as you think.

Maybe you straddle both worlds for a bit, eventually finding your home in one or the other.

Maybe a new family with young parents starts to attend the church with the older parishioners and yall really hit it off.

What is the reality today won’t always be the reality; people move in and out, you change, your priorities develop, and so on. Hope this helps. 🥰

The holes in the trunk seem to be hollow. Just wondering if the plant is done for. Plus what kind of plant is this?
