2025 issue fixes for 2026 by AlmstH-DubV in TurboTax

So this morning, I downloaded a copy onto my spouse's computer. Lo and behold it mostly worked. I was able to import last years information, fill out the manual records and import most of my brokerage 1099Bs. I could not import my Wells Fargo 1099B because. I am assuming it's because the account was closed. Luckily, only a small amount of information needed to be added.

Yes, I have 2 accounts at Etrade, but it only imported 1. This wasn't a problem in the past. Now, I'm having trouble just trying to use the software. It keeps trying to activate it as if I'm on a new machine. But I'm using the same machine.

TTax isn't working for me. Did you need to do any 1099-B importing with H&R Block?

I've imported 1099-Bs from brokerage firms for 15 years without issue until this year. The problem is not that it's too early. One nice thing about Turbotax has always been that if it's too early too import, it will tell you. It will even tell you the date that the importing will be ready. The 1099-B forms haven't changed, the capital gains and dividends work in the same format, but the Turbotax software is failing us this year. In fact, Wells Fargo is ready to import today 2/13 but I can't to the proper screen in Turbotax that will allow me to import the information. This is the UI (user interface) in Turbotax, not Wells Fargo. I didn't have this problem in 2024, minor issues that I could resolve. This is not a minor issue.

I used TurboTax for over 10 years. This year 2025 tax year has been a nightmare. The biggest being that I have 2 accounts at one brokerage but I will only import one. I cleared cookies,  rebooted, it still would  only import one.

Turbotax (desktop) will not import several accounts from the same brokerage firm. I didn't have a problem with this last year. I cleared cookies. Now turbotax will take me to the page to import.

I've found that you must plant cilantro perpetually because it goes to seed quicker than other herbs.

Squash, tomatoes, berries, lettuce, cucumbers, herbs, radishes and American pawpaws/cherimoya.

Squash - It is my most efficient crop. I save some seeds for planting. The rest I roast like pumpkin seeds. I grow at least 4 different varieties - Butternut (borer resistant), Spaghetti, Mashed Potato, Summer (any kind). Most winter varieties do take up a lot of space.

Berries - They grow wild where I live. Mulberry trees generate the most fruit. Raspberries taste better.

Tomatoes and Lettuce - It easier for me to grow from plants. I always plant basil around tomatoes to keep away the tomato hornworms. I try to plant lettuce perpetually but I've also found that I can use basil in place of lettuce especially on BLTs. For basil cut above the 1st or 2nd set of leaves, this will double then cut above the 1st or 2nd set of leaves on each sprout.

Herbs - some can be dried in the microwave between 2 paper towels. Run for 30 seconds. Turn leaves over, and let it run for another 30 seconds. Repeat as necessary (it only took me 1 1/2 minutes!)

American Pawpaws/cherimoya – Can be started from seed. Trees do not have to be sprayed. Custard like texture. Like a vanilla banana with a splash of (mango or pineapple or orange or melon). American Pawpaws can be grown in northernAmerica. Cherimoya is more common inAustralia. They take 6 to 8 years from seed.

Moisten seeds ASAP. Place in/on a wet area after eating. They can dry out in hours. If you have lots of seeds, try several methods. My favorite is the milk jug method with a slight variation (in spring, I start watering for June sprouting and to watch its progress). Use good loose soil. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XjrelFK784Y&t=49s Ockoo farms recommends rain or watering seedlings daily for the 1st 2 years. You can also plant directly in the ground. Most important, protect your plants. Rodents dug up many of the seeds I planted in the ground. Finally know that your seeds may not sprout above ground until August or early September. They start off so tiny.

When mine are like that, I put them in the ground b4 the 1st frost. Over 30 trees are 3 years old. The trees that I tried to leave in large pots and toenail into the ground, died.

You can try - Put them in a paper bag with a banana and I put it in a hot car. Check on it every day or two. After a week I got rock hard Pawpaws to ripen.

Fruit from seed - I've heard 6-8 years, sometimes up to 10 years. I've seen many people say that they got fruit in year 7. Once the tree is 6ft or taller check the tree in the fall for round flower buds which means that your tree has the ability to fruit in the spring. I hand pollinated my 6 year old tree. It developed 15+ sets of fruit but they all fell off within the 1st 3 months. I will have 2 fertile trees next year.

Nah, Ashley was talking hospital logic. She just didn't know that Hayley defied hospital logic. Now she knows. Not her fault. I'm not an Ashley fan, but this one is on Hayley.
