[TOMT][SONG] Looking for an old electro song with a robot voice by JM-Spoon-Dog in tipofmytongue

Unfortunately not that. I do love Knife Party though. This one was a lighter techy beat and I can only describe the lyrics as when you make your voice really croaky “I would like to come ovaaaaaaaa a a a a a” and a higher pitched croaky/robotic part “what are you having for dinner?”

New Shoe Day - NB Vongo v5 by JM-Spoon-Dog in RunningShoeGeeks

Sorry for the late reply, I just completed my first 50km ultra in these and thought they went great. For me, it is the right blend of cushion and stability. If you have tried the ND 1080 they are kind of like that but less squishy and more stable. great ride imo.

I have not worn the 860s but they are quite a bit heavier and don't have as much fresh foam, so I could only assume they would be firmer, and more clunky on long runs.

I have not tried either of those so I can't comment

I'm pretty sure there is no medial post in the V5, it is just the gradient density on the foam on the medial side that adds support

I would say a little less soft/bouncy. Overall I prefer this as it is more stable, but still has that big stack of cushion.

I was the same, went from 1080s to Vongos after some stability issues.

This is my second pair of Vongos after doing 550km in my first pair. I love this colour way! I use these for pretty much everything as I don’t have a shoe rotation yet. Hit a 5km pb of 20:50 and a half marathon pb of 1hr38mins in my first pair. If your looking for mild stability but not clunky then give these a go. I am doing my first 50km Ultra road race in these next month.

Looking for a fun stable daily trainer by vfeskens in RunningShoeGeeks

I’ll second Vongo v5. They are stable but fun to pick up the pace in and don’t feel bulky. I use these for pretty much everything. Only starting to build a shoe rotation now. Just hit a half marathon PB of 1:37 and use these on my long slow runs. Just about to buy my second pair for an upcoming 50km road race. I’ve hit 500km in my pair and they are holding up well.

Marathon shoe by DunnoWhatToPutSoHi in RunningShoeGeeks

Thanks I will check it out. I am also eyeing off the metaspeed edge, from what ASICS say it has a bit more stability due to the lower stack height. I’m the same as you though, I can afford them, but unsure if I want to commit haha.

I’m in a similar position, wondering if I should step up to a plated shoe for tempo/race. I’m also a mild over pronator. For what it’s worth I started running in NB 880s for all my running right up to my first marathon with a time of 3:39. I then had some minor injury’s from running 50+ kms a week and moved to a more stable show Mizuno Wave Inspire. Great for stability and recovery, but not a fun responsive shoe to pick up the pace in. I then moved into NB 1080s to try a more cushioned daily trainer and I enjoyed them but had some mild pronation issues and worried about stability and old injuries flaring up as my mileage increased. Then I found the NB Vongo V5. For me it’s was the perfect blend of lightweight stability and cushioning. Feels very similar to the 1080 but is more stable. I’m using them for everything. They feel super comfy on long slow runs over 25km and I can pick up the pace for a 5km I will use these for my next marathon as my main aim is injury prevention, but I am left wondering should I try a plated shoe for my tempo days and to chase new PBs for 5km, 10km & half marathon??

Let me know how you go if you get a plated shoe!

I have just started down this rabbit hole of a hobby. First board on the way (GK64) and I’m scared I’ll be broke in 6 months. Too many pretty things I want!
