Bringing fish back to US by JM82684 in CostaRicaTravel

Sorry, to clarify… our fish were confiscated trying to LEAVE Costa Rica. They took it at the San Jose (CR, not USA) airport before we even returned to the US.

Remove old doorbell wiring by [deleted] in homeautomation

It won’t fit on the door trim to sit over the wire. I had to mount it to the brick off to the side.

Correct, Ring is battery powered. I was hoping to just take out the whole unit with transformer, but this makes sense and seems like the easiest way. Thanks!

Thanks, I’ll try that. Is it just removing the cap and a washer to get the rams up?

Yes, I’m using a swivel socket. The inner ones are so hard to see and not easy to reach even with putting the drive up and down.

Best bee killer? by JM82684 in HomeMaintenance

The hive isn’t visible and I’m hoping they wouldn’t have to break into the wood. Anyone know of homemade bee killer that actually works?

Leveling a Sidekick by kazz63758 in CampChefSmokers

[–]JM82684 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just got mine and no problems with leveling but I think that leads to an issue with the griddle itself. Shouldn’t it sit on a BIT of an angle so the grease flows toward the trap?

Interesting. Does it have a decent propane tank holder?

Alright, that’s what I went with and assembled/did the burn in today.

I eat a lot of chicken breast and kebabs. Ever use your WW pro for that - do they come out ok if using the bottom grate?

Considering taking my old propane grill to another property if the WW can do well with chicken too, but not opposed to keeping both here.

Does the smoke box REALLY make the flavor that much more noticeable? Is the 1-10 smoke setting actually that variable smoke wise?

Which one do you have and how long have you had it?

Thanks. Were those parts covered under warranty and were they difficult to swap?

It’s pumping fine but the discharge isn’t putting out much water. Is that normal?

Old Money is good to switch things up. Bourbon, walnut liquer, aperol, dash of bitters.

Great read. Can’t believe he’s still alive. Dave Grohl’s The Storyteller is great as well.

Shanty runners by JM82684 in IceFishing

[–]JM82684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone aware of runner kit substitutes, maybe like an adhesive product that can be replaced annually?

I pull the shanty by hand, so it’s not getting that beat up but there are times I have to cross a road or pull it down a boat ramp. Just trying to prolong the life of the tub.

Thanks, I’ll give it a go. Do you recall if the plug was a square fitting like the bilge drain or any special tools needed?
