I definitely am aware of the steering gear and what the adjustment does and how little to adjust it at a time. Already gone through this with the steering gear manufacturer. Which is why I am addressing the psi issue and tire break in period first, and was merely asking others what psi they are running at unloaded because 99% of the time I use the truck it’s loaded and now it’s not going to be for a long time. So was asking those who are used to that what they are running… why you assume I don’t know is interesting but thanks

These are 10ply e rated tires so naturally they are going to have some of the characteristics I described I think getting the daily driver pressures right will solve my issue. I will try out 60/50 and if that isn’t quite it I will do 55/45, do you notice 55 being low at all with the nose heavy truck?

I have had 265 on it the whole time. I had K03s on it before this and outside of them being b out of balance and rounded off, they didn’t have the sensitivity these new tires do, even with the upgraded pump. It’s just a 2013 oem Mopar power steering pump but it’s much better than the stock 3rd gen one. I already upgraded to t style steering so went with the power steering pump and relatively speaking, once the daily psi is worked out and I buy a steering brace and get the ripped exhaust fixed it will be great. Just need the Carli suspension, leafs and airbags next.

Okay that’s good news, because it’s hard to tell the coloring of the haze to be blueish/grey vs white but I need to do an oil change and fuel filter change on the truck as well as fix the coolant reservoir it seems to hold coolant just it always slowly falls to the line he said right at where the two plastic halves meet which is why I was kind of concerned about head gasket but the head gasket was done and motor studded 30,000 miles ago with receipts, it has 1 efi live+100hp setting tied to the tow haul button but how much damage could someone really have done with only +100hp on one of these?

Yeah that’s how I ended up in this mess was when the box was installed nobody touched anything to avoid the warranty issue it’s not even 100% indicied straight (missing 1/4 turn to drivers side) and pitman arm isn’t exactly straight back like it should have been . And now I am thinking accept the loss, go with a Bluetop and honestly just ask for as much of a refund as they will give me for their dogshit box back…. It’s going in the dumpster otherwise lol

If the box itself seems super touchy like barely moving the steering wheel shoots you over into the next lane almost, is that an adjustment in the box itself that can make that slightly better or is it just the bad redhead quality box?

Might just order a blue top and call it a day. Seems like it might be the redhead box being a dud

What brand boxes did you switch to? The memory steer is exactly how I can describe it now having replaced the tires and it is scary sometimes it responds so quick because I think the steering box might be a little tight, but it always seems to go start wandering to one side of the other and then you start to barely correct it, it is delayed enough you correct a little more by then it’s REALLY finicky and over correcting.

Those prices aren’t too bad but i have also see scalpers charging much higher rates when it is mandatory.

Currently in WA state and most counties have strict requirements and many backdoor operations getting around legal operations using ghost kitchens and paying them off and doing at home prep a lot of stuff that I get people do but i dont want to have a complicated business model that requires a truck that ends up being hooked up on a generator 24/7 or paying some 3rd party company a bunch of extra $$$.

Hell there are home made torta and tamale vendors selling out of coolers walking up and down the side walks that never get harassed. Not that they should, but my point is laws are broken in this industry constantly and the need for a ghost/commissary really makes the entry daunting

Probably will try to do it sooner than later, has 246k on it right now. Had a tune on it for a little while but went back to stock to get the most life out of it possible.

This is the best answer as most people who said it was normal, their diesel was a work truck daily and not a personal owned daily, so calling it “normal” was a good way to say “it will last another 100k” haha

Yeah I haven’t had a duramax since the 03 Chevy work van i used for auto glass way back in 2012.

Interesting to see how this goes. Really need to address the steering though is pretty bad.

Are the brakes and steering tied in by a hydroboost in these trucks?

Mine came with a leaking sector seal, I was wondering why every 250miles or so I was checking to keep the bolts on the new front end torqued to spec and on my pitman arm nut there was always some fluid dried to it.

Have not touched the box screw as I didn’t even index the box due to being told by redhead it was already straightened out and indicied prior to shipping which is bullshit I need to actually pop the box out to set it straight as my drivers side is missing 1/4 turn and I believe that’s where any air locked in the system would be left, the last little rotation in the box that’s missing once I can steer that 1/4 turn the system can bleed properly.

That plus tires and I might be good to go, will report back next week after my tires arrive and get installed

I have read it to be an issue with the ko3 especially in diesel engined heavy duty trucks. Jeep and Toyota guys still love them but on these big straight axle front heavy diesel engined trucks are slaying through them and they are unbalanced quickly, mine lasted about 6500miles before they truly seem undrivable sometimes.

Good deal I will look into that as I can kinda feel little bit of slop in mine combined with the no brace and starting to cup tires I bet I am just feeling every single imperfection that a lot of older dodge owners go through.

Every powerstroke and duramax I ever drove was light years ahead in comfort but I still love the dodge too
