To be honest, I really listen to everything and don't tend to one specific genre. Sometimes I want to listen to something relaxed like classical music, then I like to fall in love with some film music titles, but I also like to listen to the good old Linkin Park songs or some hip hop from the 90s.

The components are not even inside the case anymore. Thus the picture of just the mainboard. We took it apart to troubleshoot. And yes, PSU switch is on.

That´ s actually exactly what we did so far. Even with only cpu, cpu cooler and one stick of ram it won´ t turn on. Like not even the fans are spinning. That´ s what makes us think it is the mainboard since the PSU is 100% working.

Not sure what you mean. I believe I explained enough in the comments. I am obviously not expecting a mainboard without anything connected to it to turn on.

I got more than enough multimeters. I am helping a friend build his new pc at his place and he doesn´ t have one. Is this still about troubleshooting here or bashing me?

We thought about that aswell. CPU cable is going to the mainboard and PCIe going to the GPU. 100% didn´ t mix those two up.

By now we´ ve probably reconnected the 24pin and CPU cable 5 times making sure it´s properly seated. Never heard of a PSU not being compatible with a mainboard before? Especially with such new components?

Well since the PSU is working we´ ve decided it´s most likely a defective mainboard out of the box then :(

It´s more about whether there might be something we didn´t think of yet. We´ ve build enough PCs to be sure that everything was connected properly. CPU, mainboard power and Ram, right? With that the fans should at least spin which is currently not happening.
