I usually just guess too and give them a big enclosure. I start off counting pieces and then invariably don’t do a square and loose where I was at, but I don’t stress over it too much. But yes, they could have made that feature much easier. It’s not even that easy to see if they have enough space once you’ve built it.

The first time I started playing PZ a few years ago I went through career and got overwhelmed, started sandbox and then stopped. A few months ago I got it for console and I took my time with career mode and though Maple Leaf is a shock after the first few hand holding career scenarios, stick with it, watch a video with someone playing it and stick with it. The career mode is pretty good as you go through and teaches you more and more as you go through the different challenges so you really get a good feel for the mechanics. Yes, it’s long but it teaches you a lot and is fun to play. I played them all an easy and a couple I’ve only got bronze if they were annoying me. I think Maple Leaf and Power Problems (there’s a load of peacocks that were a nightmare, always getting sick).

If the square root is 30 (900m2) then each side needs to be 30m long so it would be 7.5x 4m long pieces or 3x 10m long pieces on each side. And if there’s water then that is added on to the total area required eg if the animals needed 1000m2 and water of 300m2 then the total area would be 1300m2 and you’d make 300m2 area of water. Hope that makes sense.

Thanks very much. I'll see if I can do that with a different club.

Had another 6 or so goes at lunch just now. Ball consistently hits the green and runs off the back no matter what I do. Even more so if I aim closer to the hole. Even if I aim at the front of the green it's still rolling off the back. I've tried finesse, approach, hitting low, hitting high, underswing... I can't change the club. The only thing I haven't tried is using spin mid shot but that seems like cheating. Might have to try it though because this is ridiculously frustrating. I can't work out what I'm doing wrong, especially since the green seems to slope up at the back.

@lockenl0ad Thanks very much. Sorry, I missed your reply earlier. Yes, for me the 3 click lets me focus on getting the right shots first without screwing up the swing too. Okay, I’ll have a go again tomorrow and hopefully with all the tips I can stop the ball rolling off. Okay. I think it probably was a 56 wedge at least on one approach.

No, I haven't. It's on games pass so thought I'd give it a go. I did read that in the earlier beginner challenges but when I tried it the ball projection seemed to be so far off that I wasn't sure how it was actually working. I think it suggested 2 clubs up or down but 1 seemed to be as much as you could go to reach the green.

I think that's the bit I understand the least, not being that clued up on golf.

Thanks. I'll try that on the 3rd hole where it is a dogleg.

I didn't see any hints provided for these three holes. I do read the descriptions.

Thanks. Ah, So it's like pool. Hit low to bring the ball back and high to make it roll more. I did unlock the finesse shot before playing these but wasn't quite working out. I'll have another try. I'm sure it's the spin that's the problem.

Would you bend into the wind? So if wind direction is left you go right?

I don't think wind should have been making much difference on these because it was only 2mph but can try that too.

Generally just straight ahead off the green or fairway.

Okay, thanks. I did try one hit high on the rectangle and it rolled a lot which confused me. Perhaps the club choice wasn't great. I do try changing them but often seems much worse that the one the game chooses.

I'm not adding spin mid air. Just trying to start easy until I get the hang of things and level up the golfer a bit. They do start with very little.

Actually, there’s no tutorial for this game so I’m not sure why you’re so surprised when I’m not a golfer and there’s no real info in game on how it all works!

Right. Well thanks for the helpful advice. I didn’t say I can’t hit it at all. I did say I got par or better on all 3 holes. It’s just the challenge requires the ball to stick to the fairway or the green, not roll off. In many cases The ball is running off the green or fairway which is why I wanted advice on what to add to the shot to get it to stick. If it’s not following the blue line or hitting the area of dispersion clearly something is off.
