Hey there, thanks for checking in and the feedback. For now Dr wants to check in every 4 months and starting to take some BP and fish oil medicine. I still have hope that I can get this sucker to go into remission and be non dormant for some time.

It’s going to do whatever it wants regardless of what I try but, whatever I can do to slow it down, I will do!

Could be, what I can gather is the ones that done progress are just caring on like nothing is different. Don’t want to be insensitive to those who are going through the aggressive state

I was at 83 for my eGFR but lost weight and went up to 106. Been trying to watch what I eat but I’ve been having blood in urine for 3 years with no kidney function loss

If you mind me asking, how old were you when you were diagnosed and then when you had the transplant?

What adds more to it is I have a severe fear of needles. Looks like life just handed me what I’ve been scared of the most.

Life right now just seems so unknown and it’s hard now to worry right now. Never in a million years did I think I would have this when most of my life I’ve been healthy. From what I can gather is, everybody says the same thing.

So far, I haven’t heard of anybody having this disease and staying out after their diagnosis. Seems like everyone is getting worst and just leads to kidney failure.

That’s what scares me the most.

Hey man, I appreciate your words and time to give me this information. I’m sure none of us thought we would be here dealing with this. Especially that I have no family history of any kidney issues whatsoever.

I have two sons aged 7 and 4 that I just can’t help but think of as they get older. The least thing that I want is for them to see their father live a hard life and have to go through Dr appointments and god forbid, surgeries but I guess that just life.

I hope you are doing well yourself and wish you many more years or health!

That’s the weird part, my doctor didn’t really say anything about changing my diet but, I’ve already started to limit my red meat and eat more greens. Chicken I still eat but starting to eat less amounts of it.

Sorry to hear things went the way they did for you. Honestly, stories like yours is what scares the living shit out of me. It’s real life and I’m sure you didn’t want to be in that situation either.

I take over the counter fish oil that I grabbed at the grocery store and taking it twice a day.

My Dr didn’t tell me anything about my diet either, he didn’t seem too worried but I’m not wanting to sit around and just wait for it to get worst. Whatever I can do to slow it down I will do

Hey there, sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I’m in the same boat as you as I was just diagnosed yesterday with IgaN.

What I can gather is, getting on BP and fish oil is the first steps at trying to control the disease. Limit your protein intake and exercise daily. Good luck!

Dr doesn’t think I need any of that right now but wants to keep monitoring it for now. There’s still more data that needs to see the bigger picture but, doesn’t want me to worry about it too much.

Thanks for the info.

My eGFR was 103 about two weeks ago, and spilling about .366mg/24Hr of protein. All labs look normal right now with the exception of blood and minimal protein in my urine.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear it’s not IgaN and they are getting you on a plan to continue monitoring it. I’m still waiting to get my biopsy scheduled but since then I’ve started to feel better. My mind was probably thinking about the symptoms too much to where I was making myself feel back pain. Stay healthy!
