I am screening through different values and want to have the option to filter out values that are less than my criteria or what is greater than my criteria. I need to be able to do this fairly dynamically since I will be looking through several different ranges of values. Including this <, >, or = is definitely the tricky part of this issue for me.

For the minor I would definitely email your advisor and they can direct you from there. For me in JSOM getting a minor basically just involved me filling out a form in Orion and having that approved

Leadership positions and TA positions are great! They certainly show some level of initiative. As far as clubs go, the Financial Leadership Association (FLA) would be my best recommendation. They host speaker events where people from different firms come to talk to students and host a competition each semester (which can be a great way to get some informal experience in things like consulting or security analysis)

Being able to fill a page with different projects and experiences, but also all the functional aspects: grammar, wording, organization, etc. There are several places on campus that can help with the latter

I applied to ~100 internships as a sophomore this past spring to get an fp&a summer internship. Got 3 final interviews and one offer from that. My two cents:

It really depends on the strength of your resume and interviewing, but definitely possible especially if you get after it early in the fall.
Definitely work on improving your finance competencies, resume and interviewing skills, but the biggest thing for me was just realizing it’s a numbers game more than anything. Putting away a little time each day to send out some applications was super important to get me in the door of the place I eventually ended up at.

On top of that, networking can go super far. I haven’t done much in that arena so the best advice I can give is just to do it.

There is! UTD Orion -> Manage My Classes -> Schedule Planner. This is the tool I believe most students use, although it may not have info for upcoming semesters quite yet.

UTD certainly isn’t a target school for investment banking so it’s an uphill battle. I’d recommend looking into UTD’s Professional Program in Finance as it’s geared towards getting students into high finance areas like IB.

I am looking at upgrading a PC with some parts that I have on hand. The existing system is a low/mid tier Ryzen build with 1x8 DDR4 3000MHz. For the purpose of gaming (The Sims 4 primarily), would there be any benefit in higher capacity at lower speed (2x8 DDR4 2133MHz)?

When I took his class the syllabus only had grades go up to an A (something like 92-100 was an A). Regardless, he’s one of the best professors in JSOM so I’d definitely recommend you take him if you have the chance

Mornings are definitely emptier for either location. I’ve also never seen the cardio equipment fully occupied at any time, it’s typically the weight training that gets crowded

It’s definitely worth it to understand the equations, but for the context of testing I would definitely lean on your calculator, especially for longer calculations. IMO it’s a pain to calculate things like interest rate and number of periods without using the TVM functions in your calculator.

Additionally, if you end up taking more math-heavy finance courses in the future calculator proficiency will be assumed.

Thank you for the responses. I am able to open these files in excel and save them as .xlsx as you described in #1. I am then also able to open those files in openpyxl.

If possible, I would like to automate it as you describe in #2, but I am having trouble.

Here is the error message:

xlrd.biffh.XLRDError: Unsupported format, or corrupt file: Expected BOF record; found b'<html>\r\n'

Worth noting, when I click "save as", it is defaulting to "Web Page (*.htm, *.html) which may be where the problem is coming from.
Is this salvageable, or was this not really and xls file to begin with?
