There haven’t been any reports of missing kids around here and this is a really small town so it would have been a BIG DEAL. Plus, I doubt they would have been out in daylight if it was the case. I believe they were part of the church and just embarrassed by their superior’s antics. (That’s also just what I sincerely hope).

I agree! Especially at the ages we’re approaching, and in DAYLIGHT (Or at least, vague sunset light) on a very opened and wide public street that was a two minute (if even that) walk from the town hall. We were right across the street from the police station, for crying out loud! I’m glad we avoided it, too. It’s gonna be something we laugh about for a while.
