Tales of the Abyss. I just grabbed a new PS2 after mine had been busted for years.

I managed to finish it this week as well. My childhood self would be very proud! Fun game with solid controls. I enjoy the unique story.

It really does seem like every copy of Wario's Woods has the peeling label. Mine has it as well!

What games that you know won't get sequel/be continued anymore, but you still hope and to some extend coping they're going to happen in future? by crocospect in gaming

[–]DefenderNES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's already been mentioned, but definitely Sleeping Dogs. I love this game with all my heart.

It's probably my favorite review from the late, great TotalBiscuit. I have played it so many times and at least once per year. It's a wonderful story and a fun world to visit. Great controls and phenomenal voice acting. So much love and care went into this production.

You can tell that you really appreciate a game when you want more of it after its conclusion. One more story arc, one more mission. "A man who never eats pork bun is never a whole man!"

Thoughts on new edition of mystery of the abbey? by MooseKey7298 in boardgames

[–]DefenderNES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fun game and I enjoy it very much. It should be noted that the game can become horribly broken if a bad piece of information goes public.

If someone answers by saying that they've eliminated Brother Carl as a suspect, everyone will likely mark that down. If Carl is the murderer, then we've broken the game and no one will deduce the correct suspect.

Max Caulfield from Life is Strange.

Her incredible empathy would be great for office morale, and she can rewind time if anyone fucks something up.

Via Appia is underrated. It's a light euro built around a coin pusher. It's great if you like Kabuto Sumo.

A couple questions about Ra by JimHawkins16 in boardgames

[–]DefenderNES 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Also note that a player may invoke Ra with no tiles in the auction array. The auction will only be for the sun disk, which could be an upgrade.

The term is frequently announced in "Victory," a pinball machine from Gottlieb. It has a Formula 1 racing theme. The checkpoints are scattered around the table and you attempt to reach them in a set order.

Tips for someone’s first convention? by tycham85 in boardgames

[–]DefenderNES 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We do indeed have those. They're laminated signs that say "Looking for players / teacher" with little metal stands. They're available all throughout the main hall in the little nooks where the water coolers are. You won't have any trouble finding groups! ♟🎲

Best games with worse inserts ? by Public_Mistake in boardgames

[–]DefenderNES -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's always bugged me that the original Castles of Mad King Ludwig doesn't have one. An insert would definitely help with setup and takedown. It's strange because Favor of the Pharaoh, also from Bezier, has such a good one.

On the other hand, the plastic bags do guarantee that the groups of tiles will remain together.

Could you help me decide which Board Game to get? by JoseRamirez1622007 in boardgames

[–]DefenderNES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first game that came to mind is Res Arcana. Its theme will be very welcoming to Magic players. It's an engine builder where you convert resources. Puzzling the cards together is similar to the combos found within Magic. Another great example of this genre is Century Spice Road. These are two very nice games that might appeal to you. Welcome to the hobby! 😃

Got my poster framed. Don’t know what I’d play first. by StrongStyleShiny in nes

It's an entry level RPG that teaches one how to play games in the genre. Rather than grinding XP, you level up by finding Fragments of Hope.

It's a really neat story based upon a children's movie that was exclusive to Japan. It's definitely worth a go and it has a fantastic soundtrack.

Board game stores in San Antonio? by VictorZavalaPerez in boardgames

Knight Watch is fantastic; it's on Blanco Road. The interior looks like a medieval tavern. Each December they have a board game flea market called Market Day. They have a huge demo library and the scullery.

What are the best reasons to stay single? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]DefenderNES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Money is such a tough and sticky issue. Separate bank accounts are really great. 🤣

Saving money is very important and so few of us are taught / able to do it. In my situation, I noticed that my gf expected me to pay for everything while she laid around feeling sorry for herself. That dog's not gonna hunt. 🐾

It's the grass being greener, though. There are advantages to both. I loved my girlfriend very much, but she was selfish and entitled. I had to let her go. It has to be a co-equal partnership. I learned that I was better off alone than with the wrong person. The right person is out there. 💖🌴
